Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

It worked perfectly under linux with the linked description. The command to run was plainly makemkvcon without any path etc.
First UHD rip seems to work fine too. Thanks for support.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

The current FW version looks to be recent enough (3.x), but if you don't see "Drive platform: MT1959"(MT1939 is too old), STOP! Ok, if that should happen I can't expect it to work and would need to get a different drive, right? Thought that would be 'close enough'. Yes, absolutely fine th...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

Thanks, I will need to wait then till I get the adapter. There is no way for makemkv on libreelec. Just want to be sure that I don't have unsuitable generation of the drive. Thanks for the hint for macOS. I guess only thing I have to adapt is the path to this /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

Since I learned today that my Pioneer BD-RW BDR-XD06U doesn't work with UHD and maybe never will, I want to use my BW-16D1HT from my obsolete HTPC via an Y-1039 as external drive. Currently the drive is still in my libreelec system. I ran lshw to get some information about it. description: DVD-RAM w...

Re: T2 Trainspotting

Thanks, your answer was overlapping with my edit. It seems the list is not up to date. I think I will get the Y-1039 as in the thread it's confirmed to work.
Hopefully this will work out.

Re: T2 Trainspotting

I saw the section regarding adapters/cases now. Is this exclusive? I didn't find the Y-1039 on that list that seems to be a cheaper newer option.

In the thread later on it is confirmed to work. Maybe one can update the front list.

Re: T2 Trainspotting

Oh, what a pity. I imported this drive three years ago or so extra from japan, since at least at that time in Germany there was only crap on the market regarding external Bluray drives with UHD support. I am currently replacing my HTPC by a shield. So the Bluray drive from that will be free it's a A...

Re: T2 Trainspotting

I saw this list, but didn't thought it's exclusive.

What's the matter with my Pioneer Drive?

T2 Trainspotting

Hi, since I have now capabilities to view 4k, I was really curious to get a UHD in my collection. So maybe my issue is absolutely newbish, my deepest apologies in advance ;). From the prompts I would get that there is no key yet, but the disc is quite old already. My drive is a Pioneer BD-RW BDR-XD0...

Re: Flatpak release?

Maybe this should be pinned or an information on the main site should be created. I assume this is by far the easiest method now to get makeMKV on linux and has even the advantage to not interfere with the rest of the system. Only thing I am missing is the usage of libmmbd.so.0. Since this file is r...

Re: Flatpak release?

Hi, before I go into details, a big thank you for the integraion into flathub. That makes switching to Fedora so much easier for me. I already saw it some minutes after release, because I was stalking the GitHub Repo^^. I installed it on Fedora29 and it seems to work as expected. Somehow I didn't ne...

Re: Flatpak release?

I really appreciate this effort. Having this as flatpak would be really good for all users whose distro doesn't maintain a makemkv package. One thing I wonder about is whether the system wide integration of the the libs from makeMKV will work with that, since flatpaks are sandboxed as far as I under...
