Re: Child's Play 2 UHD
No issues here. Try using 99-91% alcohol on towel then wipe down. The black cases have a left over film that can be hazy/clear and affect the readable of the disc no matter how clean it looks. Its an oil and happens to all disc for UHD, some worse then others. Also when I have this issue I shutdown ...

Re: DV Titles and MakeMKV 1.17.1
Hi, I can help. Yes Nvidia shield with Plex can play Dolby vision files. In fact its the only device that I am aware of that can do this. So you will have no problem seeing DV turn off and make use of per file. Nvidia and Plex worked on the DV together and that code has not made it other Plex device...

Re: Jurassic World Dominion UHD Dump Sent
Mine ripped on Tuesday but let me warn the Java track hunting takes a long time. When done I was presented with the most options I have seen yet on a disc.
Ripped the extended track that Java found but have not watched it yet.

Re: Debug Errors Confusion
Follow up questions:
When MakeMKV verifies the files against the hash on the disc, what is it checking against?
1) The encrypted M2TS files
2) The unencrypted M2TS files.
I would assume #1 but thought to ask.

Debug Errors Confusion
Hello, I have recently been seeing the following debug messages with my 5 rips from releases this week. From other post when you see a DEBUG message with no error, I have seen Mike and Woodstock mention that the program is doing something extra to read the disc and as long as no error exist its OK. ...

Re: Ripped MKV Hash Differences
Hi guys, I really appreciate the answer and clarity, super simple answer. I did not know the date/time is included and it makes complete sense why they do not match.
I will need to adjust my understanding/expectations to just confirm when its backed up against the hashtable.
Cheers!

Ripped MKV Hash Differences
I briefly posted before about this got a high level answer but wanted to revisit as I still see difference in pulled MKV via checksums. Specifically two scenarios both report inconsistent results. Being that the drives can have errors but more importantly oily/dirty disc from the factory I wanted to...

DEBUG: Code 0 - No error?
Hi I recently saw the debug log throw "DEBUG: Code 0 at "YUaD@ooUA^hBfH;-:29398691" The reason for this standalone post was that no error or additional message was after and the files seemed file. I did search on google and forum but it seems most post have an immediate error afterwar...

Re: Makemkv 1.15.0 (amd64) minor issues regarding scanning.
I have had weird issues with this version too.
The two things I have going on is scanning at MKB_RO.INF takes forever now, not 20 min but 5-10 for me.
The other thing is while I am changing disc the drive tray closes on its own every 30 seconds. Its really weird.

Re: Stand By Me 4k aacs 2.1/c v70
These "redundant" data are slightly different and are unique per player. Simplified, imagine a single frame from a the same scene encoded slightly differently - a house with a red roof on one frame and a green roof on another. Per rather complex AACS 2.1 crypto you can only get a key to d...

Re: Stand By Me 4k aacs 2.1/c v70
That was spot on. Hey mike, can you comment on the below for 2.1 protection at all? DeUHD dev quotes extension is fmts instead of m2ts because it contains some extra info used by studios to track the player used for decryption, which is the major difference from aacs2.0 discs. "It is not too d...

Re: Reducing MKV size with Handbrake without loosing too much quality
No worries at all, I have been interested my self and searched over time but never did the compress with my raid. But this thread forced me to search again and I came across that detailed article, saved it myself for potential future use. It was a nice write up.
Cheers
