Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I appreciate your responding and all the time you've put into this thread and the tools! Much appreciated. I am still a bit confused... Perhaps I'm misinterpreting things, but the version I have is cropped, meaning there are no black bars in the web-dl. The resolution is 3840x 1606 . I just demuxed...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Been discussed before the LG X/1 series don’t play dual track via internal media player.
7/8/9 do but as RESET999 advises random movies do not play or don’t play properly… Bumblebee is an example that springs to mind.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Or is the conclusion that Chinoppo is still the only player that properly support FEL playback? Ugoos AM6+ has a 2nd decoder so is able to playback FEl (from dual track mp4) but it's a very buggy player. You may want to ask yourself how many tv's support full 12 bit processing. And then yet, those ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The problem is he is playing the file by usb, the internal media player is not passing the TrueHD or MA to the eARC. Could be a physical limitation but most likely a software limitation due to licensing, in this scenario the USB is the transport. A source via HDMI will have the correct licensing so ...

Thanks I had already worked it out from that pagestaknhalo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 3:52 pmhttps://www.avsforum.com/threads/author ... 1.3212211/DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 11:03 amHi, is there a guide for this please?
I can’t get the switches correct with DoVi tool.
I converted HDR+ to DV no problem, now I want to do a UHD (P8) of Black Widow with P5 rpu.
Thanks for any help.
I logged the steps for p5 to p8 in there
it was the output switches I was by getting right - Black Widow works very well.
If you have a movie where your RPU is offset is there a simple guide to fix this or is is it not worth bothering with?
Ps hoping for a P5 Shang Chi 😉

Black Widow UHD + P5 = the same exact source/fames/time stamps = all match exactly Happy P8 making :) Hi, is there a guide for this please? I can’t get the switches correct with DoVi tool. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
When I had my minix /Ugoos I killed all processes and cleared cache before every attempt to play a movie, it seemed to work better like that, if I’m being honest I think the device doesn’t have enough tam or how the cache is fed through the Ram is suitable for such high bitrate files. I’ve given up ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have a question regarding encoding a file to 1920x1080p and add the Dolby Vision later. Somehow, I don't get the right file after RPU insertion. I have encoded a Game of Thrones Episode (4K REMUX, which is Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU). I encoded it without cropping, (which I ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
That's a good question. I don't know if the hardware would be capable of simultaneously decoding the extra HEVC stream with the FEL video, but I think the main problem is that it's not allowed. My understanding is that since profile 7 is only found on UHDBD discs, Dolby will only licence the decodi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Makes sense. So is the RTD1619DR ‘limited’ or is it capable but just not ‘allowed’ by Dolby to use the full FEL data? That's a good question. I don't know if the hardware would be capable of simultaneously decoding the extra HEVC stream with the FEL video, but I think the main problem is that it's ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Edit: Yeah, that would only change/set the correct metadata in just the mkv container, not within the actual hevc stream itself (what I'm trying to do) - and oddly when you do that it shows you both info to show you there's container and stream metadata I guess. Thanks though. Not even ffmpeg could...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
damn with all the players you've bought recently, you should've just bit the bullet and gotten one of the oppo clones   yeah but just like the x700, the oppo cant play cropped DV properly. with all the appletv and amazon(hdr10+ to DV) content , it was a problem. And now I can watch all th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The reason you have a 0kb file is You need to wait for it to finish, it can look like nothing is happening but depending on the speed of your system plus the size of your file it could be 20 - 40 mins before the file finishes outputting.
