Re: Thoughts on LG BU40N
I was thinking of getting the bu40n but my laptop optical Bay is 12.7mm so it won't fit. I was looking at the enclosure linked and it looks good, but it doesn't look like it's externally powered. Don't a lot of these drives give errors on uhd discs due to power requirement issues? Well I still went...

Re: Enclosure for wh16ns60
Yeah it is externally powered. I've backed up a fair share of discs already w/o issues. Suspect bad discs. Does it matter if it's plugged into the USB 3.0 or 2.0 port? usb 3 or 2 does not matter. sadly i have had more bad drives than disks but im not a normal person though have sold 250+ drives Oh ...

Enclosure for wh16ns60
Hey guys- I have been using my wh16ns60 in a vantec nextstar dx usb 3.0 enclosure. I have been able to back up my uhd discs with some success but often get read errors. I've seen on these forums that external drives might not have the power to read some of the triple layered uhd's. I was wondering i...

Re: Step-by-step guide for the best (IMHO) drive: LG WH16NS60
Hoping it's a bad disk. Can't get fury but was able to get Spider-Man 2002 today on same drive. My question is does 1.02mk offer any advantages to my 1.01? Uhd playback isn't too important to me. i know of no advantages lg does not post patch notes or even the firmware itself Thank you. I'll leave ...

Re: Step-by-step guide for the best (IMHO) drive: LG WH16NS60
So i have a LG WH16NS60. I flashed it in august 2019 to v1.01 that is libre drive enabled. Should i flash to 1.02mk? i've been getting a lot of disc read errors as of late and not sure if upgrading firmware will allow for a better ripping experience. not going to help anything a bad disk is a bad d...
