Re: Mandolorian Season 2 Disc 1 rip errors
Where did you get your disc? It's def possible there was a bad batch in that case then. Both came from Amazon: California, San Francisco bay area. Failing version was a pre-order from the original announcement, working version was the replacement order. Now if only the second disc would open in mak...

Re: Mandolorian Season 2 Disc 1 rip errors
I received my replacement copy today, and it ripped perfectly on the first try: no errors at all. Even did a full-disc decrypting backup just to be sure there weren't any other questionable sectors, and no issues whatsoever. So, uh... given that we all had the same issue at the exact same position o...

Re: Mandolorian Season 2 Disc 1 rip errors
No luck, imgburn also seems to hate it (at least with the 212U). Might retry with the BW-16D1HT when I get a few minutes later.

Re: Mandolorian Season 2 Disc 1 rip errors
Since the Pioneer 212U wasn't working, I tried with an Asus BW-16D1HT I had lying around, and while the failure mode was slightly different (device timeout errors rather than uncorrectable medium errors like my pioneer drive was throwing), the failure still happens at the same spot (offset 103753297...

Re: Mandolorian Season 2 Disc 1 rip errors
Same problem here, with zero imperfections in the disc that I could see. I tried lowering the buffer size to see if it could get past the problem area, and that failed again, same place as everyone else. Before I saw this thread, I had already ordered a replacement; I'll test the second copy when it...

Re: Dump sent for Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome 4K
Mine is the regular US non-steelbook release, and it's still not working. Sent in the dump for it last night, though (along with the dump for the BB steelbook of RAN this morning), so hopefully soon.

Re: Blu-ray rip succeeds with 1.15.0, fails with 1.15.1 and .2
Looks like the same problem with the second disc as well; attached makemkv log from 1.15.2 this time. As before, 1.15.0 worked fine, for grins, I've attached the makemkv log from that version as well. I assume there is something up with the mastering of this release, since nothing else has been thro...

Blu-ray rip succeeds with 1.15.0, fails with 1.15.1 and .2
So, this is an odd one. I picked up a copy of Honey and Clover S01 the other day, and tried to rip the first disc with MakeMKV 1.15.2 (Linux, Fedora 32, BW-16D1HT 3.10 patched LibreDrive), and it failed partway into the main feature, and I saw some SCSI errors: Jul 30 15:31:28 mini kernel: sr 2:0:0:...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
I was able to successfully do Episode 1, but I kept getting the same error. When I went to the file with the AV/sync issue there definitely is a stutter there and a little audio "pop". Is this a dirty disc issue or just an outright defective disc issue? So, for what it's worth, I've had m...

Re: Rise of Skywalker UHD
Yep, the other two tracks were non-English opening crawls. You want 00800.mpls for English. Title information Name: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (English) Source file name: 00800.mpls Duration: 2:21:53 Chapters count: 44 Size: 58.4 GB Segment count: 2 Segment map: 294,669 File name: Star Wars- T...

Re: Rise of Skywalker UHD
Assuming it's the same disc as in the skywalker saga set, the difference is probably the language of the opening crawl (there's two segments for each title, and only the first segment changes). I'm ripping all three of them, will update later when I know which one is correct.

Re: Star Wars 4Ks
I'm seeing the same issue with disc 1; I've submitted an AACS dump for it. For future reference, if you look at the makemkv log down in the bottom of the window, you should see a line like "Saved AACS dump file as /home/esm/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_Star_Wars-_The_Phantom_Menace_3BF4.tgz". You'll...

"Fatal error - program will now exit" - try upgrading Java
Getting "Fatal error - program will now exit" on Linux? Give a newer version of Java a try. I was trying to rip the new Knives Out retail release, and it kept failing part-way through scanning through the titles, using Java 1.8 (as shipped with Fedora). Backups worked fine, it was just try...

Re: Building MakeMKV 1.14.3 for Fedora 28
FWIW, I keep an RPM spec up to date over in this thread as well. You can go off the BuildRequires in that to get an idea of what needs to be installed to build it. tl;dr: the build toolchain, a bunch of Qt5 stuff, and some stuff from rpmfusion if you want all the codecs. There's also a thread for a ...

Largest UHD "main feature" size?
I just received my copy of the Schindler's List 25th Anniversary 4k release, and was stunned to see that the main feature track was a whopping 90GB (reported in the MakeMKV selection UI, not the final ripped mkv size). As a mostly black and white movie released 25 years ago, I was expecting somethin...
