Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thanks for that. Is there an idiots guide on HDR10+ to DV conversion? 1- extract HDR10+ into a json hdr10plus_parser.exe -i X:\HDR10+.hevc -o X:\HDR10+.JSON 2- create a json with L6 metadata (static HDR metadata) { "length": 0, "level6": { "max_display_mastering_luminance&q...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Looks like what I need - can you tell me how I use the script though? I've installed python but I'm not sure how to use it. You need to demux the video first, and then run the script on the HEVC file. example: python hdr10plus_remove.py -i video.hevc -o processed_file.hevc Thanks for that. Is there...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Can I ask how you remove HDR10+ because I need to do that on some files. You can try this: https://gist.github.com/quietvoid/175d7d16248848e2fb299f9eb1bd2c38 It's based on yusesope's script. I've tried and unfortunately it doesn't.

weird, profile 8 m2ts files worked in my lg b6
Maybe it's because of the HDR10+

EDIT: I've tried to remove HDR10+ but it's not working either.

Can HDR10+ be converted to DV now?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It sure seems to affect more the scenes where FEL adds a lot to the image and I guess FEL doesn't add much to the MI scene that I compared last night because there's indeed a noticeable difference in certain scenes of the SM disc. Especially the red flower frames where it's very noticeable. But not...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Of course if we could get a COREelec DV build that would also mitigate this issue.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Yep, you have to turn off DV in order to get 12 or 10 bits in HDR10 otherwise you're stuck in 8bit for everything. that sucks!! I've compared DV with my x700 and it looks pretty much the same to me. My DSLR camera captured a small difference that I didn't notice in real life. MUCH better than the S...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It would be amazing to have DV in CoreELEC, especially as the Minix is one of very few devices that can do full enhancement layer. I imagine some tweaks would have to be made to allow it to read DV mkvs, could this be ported from the Android DV Kodi build?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Is the Minix neo running Ugoos firmware a better buy hardware wise or are they the same build quality? Same, I have both. Any difference between Ugoos and Minix in terms of DV format support? Which one would you recommend,? Funnily enough I found the Minix loaded with the Ugoos 4.0 firmware to perf...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

mmm... I just got my Ugoos and very bad news: there's no 23.976 mode, only 24hz. 99% of movies are 23.976, so this device is useless. I hope I can return it... FYI, playing 23.976 content in 24hz = dropped/repeated frames every 42seconds. https://i.ibb.co/NLw444Q/Capture.png Use the Kodi DV build a...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I presume if you were to watch the VUDU version in HDR10 the credits would be bright white also.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I always found it strange that the white of the end credits was encoded in the FEL, I can’t see what the need was or why the encoder would choose to do that. It does seem that for a lot of movies the FEL is required for a decent presentation.
