Multiple Core, and Cuda Core capable?
This maybe a moot point, and maybe not completely needed or is not needed. When I make a MKV file of the movie from a Blu-ray. I maintain full quality. I don't make any changes except to choose the tracks I want, and make the MKV. As I understand it, all that it is really doing is demuxing, and remu...

Re: MKVs with VC1 codec
Hi I am very new to the disk ripping scene and I am limiting myself to following constraints - 1. Only Blu-Ray disks 2. One copy of the unmodified, original MKV file using MakeMKV 3. One copy in the M4V format using H.264 as the codec. From all the disks I have ripped so far, I have seen 2 codecs b...

Suggestion
MakeMKV once it reads a BR disk or a BR folder, it of course creates a list of possible movie tracks to create MKV's with. On some BR's the list of possible movie tracks is just a few. 5-10. On some BR's the list of possible movie files to decode exceed more than 30-40. All of which can be video tra...

Re: LG BD570
I have the LG BD590. Here is what you need to know. 1. to play MPG2 files that are either SD or HD with or without DD or DTS sound tracks. They MUST be in a .MPG container. (Ending in .mpg) MPG2 files will NOT play if encoded in an MKV container. 2. ANY Video content that uses the VC1 codec can ONLY...

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
Well I don't use the 7.1 analog output on my BD390 player. So I couldn't answer that question for you. One other note I have found about the BD390. Which has been fixed with the BD590. The BD390 will NOT play MKV files with H.264 video that has reference frames set at 1 or 2. It requires that the H....

Re: Different problems with BD390!!!
I have a LG BD390. I contacted LG. The LG BD390 player will NOT support or play MKV files that contain MPG2 video. The video within an MKV file, must be H.264 with ref frames at 3 or 4. IT (BD390) will NOT play MKV files that contain H.264 video with ref frames at 1 or 2. To play a DVD rip. You must...

Re: Converting Blu-ray PGS subtitles
@TexasGrillChef Hi! If you've got a BIG bloody rare porterhouse on the grill for me, thanks to fellowmember "Justin Chase", I'll share the secret with you - the secret being how to get viewable PGS subtitles in an MKV container WITHOUT having to bother with OCR ;>} It's not really a secre...

Re: Converting Blu-ray PGS subtitles
I used SupRip to get a SRT file for "Angels & Demons". It is my first and only attempt so far at working with subtitles. Yet the OCR is horrible! When I went to start the movie. I watched the firt 10 min of the movie and 95% of the subtitle was unreadable. Could not tell what was being...

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
Maybe you folks should consider PM-ing - because this is actually a MakeMKV-specific forum... I agree some have gotten off topic. But my topic was the use of MakeMKV being used to create MKV files that are having issues playing on the LG BD390 player. Once I figured out the problem. ie... Reference...

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
I'm all but sure that was a problem with software players and stand alones do not have the problem. I have a processor that does not have HDMI http://bryston.com/sp2_m.html it's a good unit not worth what I paid but I have 13 years of warranty left :D A few weeks ago I thought I read a thread (can'...

Re: List of BluRay with forced subtitles (version 2)
The following have subtitles that are needed for various different streams. But are NOT forced. What I mean by that. Is there are several instances of foriegn speach dialog where there is no subtitles shown. Yet if you turn on the normal english subtitles, it will show the foriegn language translati...

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
Honestly I can't answer that question. I don't use the analog output of the BD390. I guess I could since my receiver does have 7.1 analog input. However I have never seen much point to using it, if HDMI can do 7.1 digitally.

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
TGC I wonder if me working off BDrebuilder encoded movies changes any of the VC-1 issues. I also think BDRB encodes are the glitch with makeMKV and anothereac3to that I'm having but I have been having luck with demuxing with tsmuxer and mkvmerge. Files that would run in either have worked. I still ...

Re: LG BD390 playback of MKV files issue...
There are at least 2 probably more that will tell you what the video codec that was used on the video track of the M2TS file. TSMuxer, and MediaInfo. There are exceptions to this rule, but a good rule of thumb is that any movie released from Universal, & Paramount are going to be VC-1 Encoded. M...
