Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I saw a bit of discussion on this up thread, is there an explanation for why cm_analyze gradually slows down during its analysis in the 3-1 workflow, with the effective fps rate gradually dropping? Happens with every title I've done so far (I'm using Win 10). https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtop...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
thanks, so re-doing from scratch is a lot of work, I think I'll pass. But if I demux my mkv to BL and EL hevc files, I can rebuild with your updated rpu, would that be via workflow 1?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
the GUI looks really cool! While at present I am focusing on adding DV to my HDR10 files, can I regenerate DV for an mkv sourced from an FEL disc? I dislike the way some of the Star Trek films look, e.g. First Contact. Is there a way of pushing something like First Contact through a workflow that mi...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I've converted several HDR10 titles to DV using the 6-2 and 3-1 workflows and have been pleased with the results. With 6-2 I've been selecting "n" for exclude letterbox for estimating MaxFALL due to the warning about processing time. To what extent might this impact the end result? I only...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
that would explain why my conversion of Thor looks a touch dark, according to MediaInfo the MDL is 4000. For some titles MediaInfo reports values of MaxCLL but based on a first check, with Batman Begins, the value is nowhere near correct. So presumably should ignore MediaInfo fir this key parameter?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Many thanks. What's the consequence of selecting the MDL as 2000 vs 4000 nits in 3-1 for something like Batman Begins? Would 4000 make the image render on my TV as slightly darker?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
thanks, and given that 6-2 creates measurements, can they be reused to speed up 3-1?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Can you expand on selecting MDL based on content actual brightness? I guess there is a workflow for identifying the content brightness, and based on that I pick from one of the fixed 1000/2000/4000 options? I measure brightness with 6-2 and select MDL accordingly. Using 6-2 on my copy of Batman Beg...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I received the Italian JW1 disc today subs for the Italian BD JW1: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1vG_N_WnvfZePqkVs9IkFpuhC2TOamMyS thanks for the link. The JW1 subs are extremely dark. I tried to fix that using the 9-5 workflow with the .bat file changed to set the brightness adjustmen...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I'm using the values provided by MediaInfo, is that correct? yes One point in this workflow that does not have an automatic option is the prompt for the Mastering Display choice it's because I prefer selecting MDL based on the content's actual brightness. So, after what proved to be an educational ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
thanks for your patience. I rip to mkv, I successfully demuxed to two hevc files and fixed their framerates and then combined. I now have a ST-DL hevc file. Looking for a work flow to convert this to mkv, I've looked through the options but can't find it? (I tried the mkv batch muxer but on hitting ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Before I noticed the missing subtitles, I was able to build a remux with the TrueHD track by re-clocking the Italian video fps to 23.976 in mkvtoolnix You have to change the EL framerate too and not just with the container using mkvtoolnix. You have to write a new bitstream framerate(9-2) for both ...
