I've also noticed that when I play one of the troublesome discs in VLC the audio codec is DVD LPCM....but when i play the same disk as an mkv it is araw...not sure if that has somethin...

Hi I have a few DVDs that when ripped end up with distorted audio. The tracks are always PCM 16bit, 2 channel, 48 khz, 1536kbs. They are all commercially released DVDs of music clips or concerts. Strange that when the DVDs themselves are played there is no problem. It is only when the MKV is played....

Did you ever get a solution to this? I am experiencing exactly the same thing. If i rip the whole disc the audio seems fine. When i open it manually and split the file, the audio gets the errors and ends up all distorted.
