This disc has ruined my weekend. Makemkv starts as normal and recognises it but starts making some nasty noises and warns that it can't read it. So I cleaned the disc then makmkv wouldn't even recognise it was inserted (or any other UHD or BD I tried), even after reboots. I assumed my drive was brok...

I have the same issue. This has been puzzling more for a very long time.
In the end I looked at the screen.conf file and there is a destination path entry. I changed this to my HDD and now I can see it with MakeMKV.
