Re: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
Choosing the first BMDV folder should display the playlist as this contains the movie. You should see the Stream folder inside BMDV. The Stream folder contains the segments of the movie if obfuscation is used. I still get 100s of playlist files. I select the bdmv\stream dir and it goes back to root.

Re: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
Just done a run through and makmkv shows this as the FPL_MainFeature 504,512,509,511,518,506,514,519,505,516,507,520,510,502,508,503,501,515,517 - 00396.mpls but after looking it looks like this is the correct one for me. 504,512,509,511,518,514,506,519,505,516,507,520,510,502,508,503,501,515,517 -...

Re: John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
Have you guys tried running the BDMV file through BDInfo to get the correct playlist? Use Makemkv in backup mode to get the BMMV file then run it through BDInfo to display the playlist. I may be missing something, but I downloaded and tried to see how this would help but it was not obvious to me. M...

That's not a method I am familiar with. While the blu-ray disc is inside the drive open Makemkv and go to file, b...

Re: When to decrypt backup, and when not to decrypt
Do you want to play it? Decrypt. If you don't, any device you decide to play the file will have to understand BD encryption. The other question you don't ask, "Why use backup, rather than open/write to MKV files?" Since decrypting from HD is faster than disk, am I good getting a "1:1...

Re: When to decrypt backup, and when not to decrypt
movie extras for backup, I usually dont save them when writing main title.
Also, in case I miss a forced sub. my process has evolved, and now I write all subs.

When to decrypt backup, and when not to decrypt
What is the general consensus when backing up BD (or UHD) discs? Decrypt or not? Ive seen a few posts that some programs want the original "signatures", so in those cases don't. Should I be decrypting all, with the exception being for some (or vice versa)? My workflow is backup disk (no de...

Re: Question on DVD obfuscation
I have summarized below my thoughts on the Lionsgate Obfuscation protection mechanism, but posted the full detail in the Ken Burns: The Vietnam War post, if there is any confusion: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?&f=7&p=67698#p67698 I don't know the release dates between my title...

Re: Ken Burns: The Vietnam War
My initial run for this Lionsgate DVD was met with partial errors, so I searched and found this thread (linked from another: Question on DVD obfuscation https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17806) This method helped for me with Juliet, Dead. However it varied: First play was from PS3, T...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
Theres some werid "grinding" sounds, like laser tracking is off (laser is at end of track with motor still moving to progress it). Anyway, not sure if I should try a difference firmware. This happens as MakeMKV terminates the backup &/or I exit the program.
Thoughts?

EDIT: This page and this page I feel is what's lacking in the first post which is filling in the gaps for me. essentially...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
1) 3.01 or 3.02 modded fw make your unit to be UHD friendly. 2) Yes, it supports any MediaTek MT1939/MT1959 chipset (mainly LG, ASUS). 3) Win7-PE, as the name suggests, is a Windows 7 Portable Edition, which is needed to properly execute DOSFLASH32. If you carefully read my own guide, you'll find a...
