Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
I can confirm that 1.17.2 no longer segfaults on my Arch Linux system. MakeMKV GUI (non-flatpak) works again, and integration with other tools (eg. VLC) seems fixed. Thank you, Mike. This fix is much appreciated. Communications still need improvement, not going to lie, but thanks for being responsiv...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
Indeed, it would be encouraging to see an ack by mike admin about this problem and a "working on it guys" bit of reassurance before we all delve into potentially destructive means to get makemkv working again. The lack of any sort of comment is a bit worrisome given that this has been a t...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
You all have valid points about this project not being open source It would be great if this project goes to github or others and have a proper issue tracker. But i think that mike deliberate keeps everything to himself for legal punishments? makemkv isn't exactly legal so that may be the reason? I...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
Ironically I'd totally donate $50 to the project if it was open source. But no way I'm paying money for something that could disappear in a day and my money would be lost. Go ahead and buy a license - it's worth it. If the project disappeared tomorrow, your money would not be lost, because you woul...

Re: Question to all: MakeMKV without GUI, console only
Just curious, did anything come of this question? Thread started in Oct 2020, it's now almost May 2022. A decent number of posts from people with lots of interesting insights, use cases and useful information. As many have done, I have come up with my own workflow and code to work around the quirks...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
I don't think people just posting that they have the problem also is very helpful. I imagine Mike will get the idea at this point. Until this project uses a proper platform to manage communications that can differentiate between general issues like documentation or "this specific disc isn't pr...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
The analysis you posted is great. Thanks very much for that. I would say that this issue points to a wider problem with the project, which is that it seems to be a one person show, and while it wears the robes of openness, ultimately the project isn't very open. There is no real dialog between the d...

Re: Segmentation fault on Arch Linux
I can confirm this. Workaround with snap (or flatpak) is an option, but only for running the GUI or makemkvcon. This bug also breaks direct disc playback with libmmbd, so there is a lot of secondary breakage that is harder to workaround.

Re: website down?
Seems the hosting needs their payment.... In light of recent world affairs, seems like hosting needs to be moved to another jurisdiction where payments to the hosting provider won't violate sanctions or otherwise support behavior that has no place in a civilized world. At least set up some mirrors ...

Re: Bombshell (2019)
I extracted both the 942.mpls (which my java said was the main feature) and 619.mpls (which the first post said was the correct file for rental (I have a netflix disc). I ran both side by side along with the actual bluray playing in a third window. I didn't watch every second, but did check back ev...

Re: MakeMKV Blu-Ray rips can't play on Roku, remux fixes it??
I can't offer any insights, but I can confirm this happens to me as well on the same Roku model using Emby and direct play. It doesn't happen with every file, but definitely happens. This never happened before on this device - it started sometime early this year. So it's either due to a recent firmw...

Re: Bombshell
And for Netflix? Update 2: I checked the transitions from the end of each segment to the start of the next, and the following seems to be correct. The scenes flow together at least. So 00619.mpls appears to be correct for Netflix Title information Name: Bombshell (English) Source file name: 00619.m...

Re: VLC Media Player won't play blu-ray's in Ubuntu 20.04? (Running latest MakeMKV)
Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives have been supporting multiple architectures using a Multiarch layout (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultiarchSpec) for many years now. The instructions for adding libmmbd support are outdated/incomplete. The correct place to put the symlink on modern 64-bit Debian-based syst...

Re: Output file name template: Source file type?
So after testing a bunch of DVDs and Blu-ray discs (with minimum title length=0), I've come to the following conclusion about source file number: 1. For DVDs it doesn't seem to provide much in the way of consistently useful information. Some DVDs have one title per source file, others can have multi...
