Re: LOTR:TTT Failed to open disc / The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Thanks, then I just have to wait. I guess there are lots of other things much more important than MakeMKV right now over the holidays. In the end the team does their best so waiting a few days should be no problem.

Re: LOTR:TTT Failed to open disc / The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
To be sure because it is not working yet: The file in question is named "MKB20_v76_The_Lord_of_the_Rings-_The_Two_Towers_(EXT_)_PT_1_2F1F.tgz." This is the right file, is it? I've mailed this to svq@makemkv.com Don't want to stress anyone, just want to make sure I've done everything correc...

Thanks, I just sent them. At least it seems like an issue that can easily be dealt with.

LOTR:TTT Failed to open disc / The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Hi, today the newly released "Lord of the Rings" Extended 4K bluray , German release, arrived and I promptly started to rip them. "Fellowship of the Ring" worked like a charm. But with the first disc of "The Two Towers" the problems began. The disc information for TTT w...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
I don't want to watch movies directly from the disc anyway. I rip the movie to my pc and then watch the mkv. I want to burn CDs but no blurays. What model would you recommend? UHD friendly or UHD official? LG BU40N with a 5,25" frame, LG WH16NS60, LG WH14NS40, LG WH16NS40 or any other model? Th...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
Billy and MartyMcNuts say that the slim drives are more reliable than the 5,25" drives. But these work only for Makemkv. If your drive is supposed to work not only with Makemkv you can follow my guide. But that's just a suggestion: https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/guide-for-flashing-uhd-drives-...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
I already used it like 10 times at this point. I guess it's kaputt then.
I assume there is no chance for a replacement via warranty, right?

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
So DVDs work, I ripped one without any problems and it worked quick and was displayed in the explorer, as well. But BD, neither normal BDs nor UHD discs works. It won't show in MakeMKV and in the Explorer it says empty and asks me to insert a disc. I read about that CDs and DVDs are less vulnerable ...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
Thanks, as a matter of fact, I actually had one of those cleaning DVD, the drive even read it properly. But BDs are still not working. I will repeat the process until it eventually works. For the case it should work, do I have to go through this cleaning process with every disk I want to rip? Perhap...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
Thanks for your reply! How do I clean the laser? And for the disc I can use soap and water + a microfiber cloth, right? For the firmware: There is a firmware in the package for the 16D1HT in the folder (it's called "ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014") but it wont't work with the Asu...

Re: No disk inserted and various reading problems
Theres progress! I was just able to open a disk or at least get it to start loading. It was "Inception" in UHD. But in the process there were only errors mostly this one: Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00061.m2ts' at offset '...

No disk inserted and various reading problems
Hi, since today I cannot read bluray and UHD-disks reliable anymore. I use an Asus BW-16D1HT drive and flashed a BC-12D2HT firmware on it with the Asus Odd FW Changer. I attached a screenshot from MakeMKV for all information. This worked since I bought the drive. Until today. It all started with &qu...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?
Just installed the drive and this happened. I quote my other post in the Guide-Topic: Hi, I tried to flash my new Asus BW-16D1HT to enable it reading UDH-Disks. It came with the 3.10a software. I used the Ultra Hax0R-Guide from Youtube linked in the first post. I opened the BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019
Hi, I tried to flash my new Asus BW-16D1HT to enable it reading UDH-Disks. It came with the 3.10a software. I used the Ultra Hax0R-Guide from Youtube linked in the first post. I opened the BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched.exe from the Downgrade Enabled Firmware V.2 folder and selected the DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?
Lets hope so. :D May I ask what blurays you use to determine whether a drive works or might be defective? or does it even matter? Is a 50GB-BD for example suited whatsoever and the movie has no effect? Or are there movies better than others? Of course I want to test it with all the possible types. T...
