Re: Has MakeMKV stopped working?

Thanks but it would seem to me that if MakeMKV is consistently running into problems with BR discs which play without hitch on a player (and through the same drive as MakeMKV is using to make the rip), then MakeMKV may not be coded adequately to buffer the data from the discs it is ripping? Playbac...

Re: Has MakeMKV stopped working?

That was an LG USB drive, which I returned under extended warranty, and purchased a new Pioneer drive which has arrived today. However, the Pioneer has had exactly the same problem as the LG. I have been using my Macbook 2012 as laptop and began to think that the battery may be too old to sustain t...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

I have no idea what steps you are following but they are not the right one's! It looks like you have flashed a very old firmware to your drive. Nowhere do any instructions mention flashing BP50NB40 1.00 firmware to the drive!! The correct procedure is provided in detail in the first post of this ve...

Re: Dump Submitted The Wicker Man

Oh wow, It turns out I have one of these unencrypted discs, I followed the instructions in the link you provided by copying the disc to HDD and then removed the AACS file, and lo and behold, MakeMKV happily read the contents. So the problem all along was because the disc wasn't encrypted, I will ma...

Re: Avengers Endgame Rip - No DolbyVision

SOaB I just looked at the boxcover again. Damn my aging eyes. It def has the DolbyAtmos logo. It has another Dolby logo right next to it. I thought it was DolbyVision but looking closer it’s just DolbyDigital. … fml Nevermind. Smh Thanks for following up. It is an easy mistake to make. I asked abou...

Re: Avengers Endgame Rip - No DolbyVision

The case/box has the DolbyVision and DolbyAtmos logos on it. That is interesting. Could you please provide a photo of the case and disc? I ask because I can't see anything on blu-ray.com about any release of the movie including Dolby Vision. Edit: Are you sure the case doesn't mention 'Dolby Digita...

Re: Dump Submitted The Wicker Man

MKB20_v70_The_Wicker_Man_-_Disc_1_6081 I downloaded the latest KEYDB.cfg but this didn't work either. It's only disc 1 of the 2 disc set that doesn't work, the one with The Final Cut on it. There was some discussion in 2023 about a different 'The Wicker Man' release which was problematic ( Link ). ...

Re: Avengers Endgame Rip - No DolbyVision

My understanding was 'Black Panther' was the only Marvel 4K disc to include Dolby Vision. Was there a particular reason you thought this disc would include DV? I know most of the MCU on Disney+ has Dolby Vision but that is not relevant for the physical releases.

Re: LibreDrive and Encryption?

why not just make a random one each time you put a disc in a drive? or is there a need for a disc/drive combination having the key stable? I know it sounds contrived but key stability may have been beneficial if trying to avoid issues with drives/hosts caching stale data after updating the RDK. Oth...

Re: LibreDrive and Encryption?

I read the what is LibreDrive thread but one question that I still dont exactly understand is, that is the issue of Encryption, or specifically how older MakeMKV versions are able to decrypt newer discs. As far as I have read LibreDrive primarily deals with the Bluray Drive's refusal to read certai...

Re: MakeMKV fails decrypting House of Dragon UHD 4k Complete Season 1 & 2 Boxset - Season 1 Disc #4

Hi MrPenguin, is the KEYDB.cfg an officially file provided by MakeMKV? Nowadays, I want to avoid downloading anything from the internet (unless from a confirm trusted site) to avoid being hacked and importing malicious malware into my PC? Also, will MakeMKV auto-updating its decryption keys regular...

Re: Verbatim 43888 with LG drive?

Model Code: KIAA = LG Drive Model Code: KIAB = Pioneer Drive I find that model code a little strange as you would think the Pioneer would be A as its an earlier version. Would be good if someone can post a model code of an older version that at least 12 months old. For what it is worth, I have a Pi...

Re: Errors while ripping UHD disc

My drive is the Verbatim BDR-UD04 which is a LibreOffice friendly. The discs are brand new out of the box, super clean. I don't understand the error. It is important to remember that a disc can be clean enough to appear visually flawless whilst also being completely unreadable due to manufacturing ...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have no reason to believe the firmware for the Pioneer was updated. I do believe that the issue was caused by the MacOS update. Earlier you implied that your drive previously supported UHD discs: Since my Mac has updated to Sequoia I have not been able to copy UHD ...

Since my Mac has updated to Sequoia I have not been able to copy UHD discs. Blu-Ray and DVD copy fine. This had worked: PIONEER External Blu-ray Drive BDR-X13U-S Excellent Reliability & Stability 16x BD-R Writing Speed USB 3.2 Gen1 / 2.0 BD/DVD/CD Writer with PureRead 4+ Realtime PureRead X13U-...
