Re: UHD Flashing service
You should post the fee, understand the shipping rates can very, but are you doing this for free, if not then how much? Appreciate this, it's a service that I believe some could use. You might want to add the LG WH14NS40 (sc: NS50) to your list, even though it's not listed, it's been verified on the...

Re: UHD drives
Anyone try to cross update the firmware of a LG 1.03 to the Asus 3.02 and then back again to the LG 1.02? I have actually done this now, and it worked fine. loading the LG with the ASUS firmware seemed to unlock the higher speed the ASUS is known for. the unit is now sitting at the stock LG 1.02 OK...

Re: Compatible MAC UHD Drives
Pretty sure if you find the right external case (some others have suggested) that since the LG WH14NS40 (NS50) (with 1.02 firmware if you want UHD friendly) should work since it's listed on the Hackintosh buyer's guide.

Re: WH14NS40 SVC - NS50 FIRMWARE 1.03
OK, I'm in the same boat. I got this WH14NS40 NS50 1.03 for a hackintosh (suggested Hackintosh recognized drive) build and see its UHD friendly and need to downflash to 1.02. Anyone crossflash to Asus 3.02 and then to LG 1.02 to see if that works?

Re: UHD Drives for sale
Anyone near a Micro Center? My local one yesterday had about 10 retail box versions of the LG BH16NS40 (NS50) 1.02 on the shelf for $79.99.

Re: UHD drives
Hello. So, I'm building a hackintosh. Listed as an optical drive that's hackintosh friendly is the LG WH14NS40. I ordered one from Amazon and got the NS50 version but with ROM 1.03 with a Jan. 2018 build date on the sticker. OK, so I hadn't seen this drive as UHD friendly, but doing a search I came ...
