So from what I can gather it's ripping the DV portion to the MKV format but players can't play it, does that mean a backup I make now could work in the future if software players (plex) get DV support?
I was under the impression MakeMKV took everything on the disc and shoved it into an MKV container?

Backups failing?
Ok so tried 3 discs now and all failed so trying to work out what's wrong. I have the latest copy of MakeMKV, I have the keys file in the Data directory and I have an Asus drive running the 3.02 Firmware. Trainspotting 2 and Deadpool 2 both get about half way then stop, the remaining time then start...

Ok I had a look at it and wasn't confident if someone else would be able to create me a rom that would be much appreciated, I can send over the rom I pulled from the drive.

n00b question, I have been reading this thread and not sure about one thing, it looks like most discs can be ripped to an MKV container, it looks like however, this does not remove any copy protection, is that right?, if so does this just make it a backup I can't use or if I play it back through Ple...

Ok so excuse the potentially dumb comment here, just want to check with the new phone home protection does this mean either: If I play the disc in a player here then rip it and then watch the rip I can get boned? Or what I assume is right : If I play the disc here, then rip it, share the rip online ...
