Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Well, after several years of faithful service, I finally managed to kill my MSI UHD drive today. So, which drive is currently the easiest to obtain and easiest to flash for UHD compatibility?

Re: Knives Out UHD
Anyone have a status update regarding this UHD disc and full backups? Or have any alternative suggestions in general?

Re: Knives Out UHD
Is there eventually going to be a fix in MakeMKV to enable us to perform full backups of these films while removing ScreenPass? My issue is that the I want to be able to backup my movies so I can play them back on my Oppo BDP-203, but I don't want to lose Dolby Vision in the process. If I have to j...

Re: Knives Out UHD
So has a case been opened for that? I'm not sure what you mean by a case? A request to Mike, you mean? I don't know. I've never asked for it. I deal with screen pass in other ways. How do you deal with screen pass discs? My full backup of the UHD Knives Out doesn't play via my Oppo, but just sits a...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Late to the party here, so please have patience with me as I am trying to get caught up. Before investing too much time into research, I figured I would ask those of you who have been working to get the Dolby Vision and Atmos combination to work consistently using something like Plex: Would you cons...

Re: BD or UHD no longer work
My streak of unluckiness continues. Still cannot backup any discs, code string is:
DEBUG: Code 03DF/02/E064BA3E3F81
And then the program has a fatal error and only thing I can do is close it.

Re: Debug Code 03DF
Its not critical since I'm still able to use the software, however the reason for it would be good to know and if it should be avoided. i get this everytime as well This is not an error - it is a debug code. It means that you are extremely lucky :) . No other information for now... I don't think I ...

Re: Bad Boys I & II UHD Backups Failed
Thank you for the suggestion! Simply enabling the logs somehow fixed the issue. I successfully backed up Bad Boys II and Bad Boys I is currently past the failure point, so I am guessing it will complete as well.

Bad Boys I & II UHD Backups Failed
I've cleaned the discs multiple times with a lens cleaning cloth plus an alcohol/water solution, but I am still getting backup failed within the first 15 seconds of attempting to backup either disc. No error message, but both discs seem to fail at "ContentHash000.tbl" file each time. Any s...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
What's up guys, anybody here who has successfully flashed their BW-16 FW please PM me, I'm looking to send mine out to get flashed (way too advanced for me) and I'll compensate fairly of course. Please let me know if you find someone, I'm in the same boat, and since I have a laptop, have no way of ...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
Would anyone within the lower 48 of the USA who has successfully downgraded an ASUS BW-16D1HT be willing to do so for me if I were to ship them the drive along with some money for time involved? I only own a laptop, so I cannot downgrade the firmware via USB :( I also attempted to upgrade my LG WH16...

Re: UHD Backups Stall at About 50%
I've tried the following drive on a Windows machine, as well as on a Mac, but the results are the same with either: LG WH16NS40 ROM VER: 1.00 SVC CODE: NS50 Hi Chipless. Just an off topic question. You mentioned the LG WH16NS40 can also read a UHD 4K disc on a Mac OSX. Were you able to actually do ...

Re: UHD Backups Stall at About 50%
Update the firmware on that ancient piece of shit. Why do you think LG was shipping that 1.02 for years? Thanks for the suggestion. With all of the problems with new firmware closing the AACS loophole, I've been wary of messing with it. Should I update to 1.02-A0 via https://www.lg.com/us/support-p...

Re: UHD Backups Stall at About 50%
Not necessarily. Although this is a weird error message: Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:LOGICAL UNIT HAS NOT SELF-CONFIGURED YET' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00045.m2ts' at offset '28844027904' I've seen where a drive will appear to be off-line to the operating system (and MakeMKV by e...

Re: UHD Backups Stall at About 50%
The chemical haze issue can be resolved by cleaning the disc. All you need to do is use a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of water and rubbing alcohol. Spray the mixture on a clean microfiber cloth and clean the disc. Since I have been doing this, most all problems have gone away. I do this on every ...
