Re: Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files

Oh and by the way - just to add to the annoyance a couple of Titles, e.g. Gotti (2018) the movie starts midway through Chapter 0! so double check your cut time point as you can't assume it's always Chapter 0 to remove!

Re: Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files

a few more found! Daniel Isn't Real (2019) The Falling (2015) The Princess and the Pilot (2011) Thunderbirds (2004) Smoke (1995) As I mentioned it's quite straightforward to remove the offending content subsequently. Maybe it is only a UK Studio thing but hopefully this growing list of Titles will p...

Re: Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files

In each case I've noticed the MKV has a Chapter 0 with the extra video at the start. For anyone wanting to remove Chapter 0 from the MKV then I've found MKVToolNix can do this quite easily: Start MKVToolNix, load the MKV into the Multplexer and Chapter Editor. In chapter Editor make a note of the st...

Re: Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files

Here's a list of predominantly UK blu-rays I've found that have the issue of colour bars at the start, like the old test card - some have audio tones some are silent: A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982) Alice (1990) Another Woman (1988) Bananas (1971) Broadway Danny Rose (1984) Crimes and Misdemea...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

To answer my own question and for the benefit of others: It seems the “EEPROM Data Mover tool” checks the validity of the source ‘clean’ Firmware and before you can use a firmware dumped from a working optical drive (of the same model) you need to ‘clean’ it first using a separate utility “BH16NS40_...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

The LG drive works fine for UHD ripping – I think it is a European variation of a drive available elsewhere in the world. Anyway, no the query is why I can’t get the EEPROM Data Mover tool to work when downgrading the firmware on the Asus BC-12D2HT drive. I have two examples – one older one with fir...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

Just a follow up – I’ve also got a LG WH14NS40 with friendly 1.02 firmware (physically identical to the Asus BC-12D2HT). I’ve taken a dump of this firmware and tried the EEPROM utility and get the same error message.

Is this expected for this drive model too? Or perhaps something else has gone wrong.

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

Hi, firstly a big thank you for providing a method of firmware downgrade. As expected the Asus BC-12D2HT now shipping through UK Distributors has firmware 3.01 installed (drive manufacturer date Dec 28 2017) Fortunately I still have BC-12D2HT with the older 3.00 firmware to use as a firmware donor. ...
