Re: Midway 2019 4K (new BD-J protection?)
I purchased the disc from Best Buy and an cannot even open it, receiving the message: "Failed to open disc". Edit: Nevermind, I was also receiving the "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting message. I used the instructions in this post to fix my DNS: h...

Re: UHD drives
Try this. Run the exe and select the firmware bin file (ASUS 3.02). I decided to run this last night on my LG WH14NS40, and it worked, but I received an error message that something (registry keys???) didn't match, and the drive would be placed in boot mode. However, when I ran MakeMKV, it s...

Re: UHD drives
Try this. Run the exe and select the firmware bin file (ASUS 3.02). I am guessing this needs to be run in Windows 7 PE like the other utilities? I have an LG WH14NS40, SVC Code: NS50, ROM Ver. 1.02 and was thinking to put the Asus 3.02 firmware on it to get the faster write times. According ...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
The LG drive works fine for UHD ripping – I think it is a European variation of a drive available elsewhere in the world. Anyway, no the query is why I can’t get the EEPROM Data Mover tool to work when downgrading the firmware on the Asus BC-12D2HT drive. I have two examples – one older one with fi...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
Will the new AACS 2.1 encryption on discs like Fury and Patriot put an end to our ability to back up our media?

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
Just a follow up – I’ve also got a LG WH14NS40 with friendly 1.02 firmware (physically identical to the Asus BC-12D2HT). I’ve taken a dump of this firmware and tried the EEPROM utility and get the same error message. Is this expected for this drive model too? Or perhaps something else has gone wron...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
@TeddyRaspin I get confused in your guide around step 8. I have a BW-16D1HT with 3.02 (clearly the wrong 3.02 because it will not see the disks) but, can I just use the "BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched.exe" in windows 10 to flash the "ASUS_BW-16D1HT_302.BIN" on to it? or do I have to ...

Gents, I made a lot of changes to the instructions document, including more background and ripping information (still needs work) and also added the link to my signature: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1EvYk8 ... EuF3y9qzwx

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
I had to resort to the DOS version for the same reason... the Windows version detected the controllers correctly, but never the attached ATAPI device. When booted into the DOS env, I assume you've CD'd into the DOSFLASH dir? Try typing 'DOSFLASH,EXE'<enter>. As the instructions indicate, you MAY ne...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
I purchased two drives from jet.com; both both were manufactured in February 2018 with 3.02 firmware. I assumed this was the version of the firmware with The AACS 1.0 loophole removed so I didn’t even test them. I just performed the rollback procedure process last night using an old Dell Inspiron 53...

Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS
Hello. Fantastic guide. I have two drives on the way from Jet.com. In the event that I need to roll back, I have been researching this process. I was wondering if it is possible to install the EEPROM Data Mover program also on the root of the USB drive with DOSFLASH_Windows7 and execute it? Then th...
