Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
I've got an external slim LG drive that I thought was successfully flashed, but won't read any UHD. LG BP50NB40 SVC NB52 / 2024-11-29 Shipped with 1.03 This is where I've gotten it: CD/DVD/BD all work fine, UHD doesn't. Drive Information OS device name: /dev/sr0 Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-R...

Re: Question to all: MakeMKV without GUI, console only
Like many others, I use it in scripts. I have a script that detects what type of medium is in the drive (cd, dvd, bd, uhd) and then proceeds accordingly by calling the appropriate tool, which is makemkvcon for bd/uhd.

Re: Linux How To: Flash ASUS-BW-16D1HT
Do you know if the drive model numbers are the same on pre-2015 Asus drives? I was under the impression they were different. Same model; ASUS BW-16D1HT. People have to look at the date of the drive and/or the metal indent pattern on the drive case (seems to be platform specific) and/or just check t...

Re: Can not access site from Australia
I have examined this case. This website cannot be accessed from multiple countries in Asia. Since Cloudflare is cached on a country-by-country basis, Cloudflare is likewise unavailable in countries where the original website is inaccessible. This is due to the original host (Russian hosting company...

Re: GUI - Long source path increases window size
I've been able to confirm your outcome. It's far more noticeable with a normal theme instead of the weird font the work machine used, but now that I look at the screenshots from that it's there too. I imagine this would be quite irritating on a laptop...

Maybe this will help;
https://launchpad.net/~heyarje/+archive ... kemkv-beta
It has an 'adding this ppa to your system' thing halfway down the page.

Re: GUI - Long source path increases window size
What distro? I've tried reproducing this in Debian and I can always resize the window. Or was your path even longer than this? I created /tmp/my/extremely/long/path/i/made/to/test/this/resize/thing/out/of/boredom/at/0239/in/the/morning/because/i/cant/sleep/and/i/have/no/coffee/left/why/did/i/agree/t...

Re: Can not access site from Australia
I'm using Optus in Australia, can't connect with ISP DNS but using 3rd party (Cloudflare) it's fine.

Re: BD-RE BU40N Revision: 1.04
I'd guess the number MakeMKV is displaying is actually the serial number of the drive controller / internal device, rather than the serial of the entire unit as a whole (whats on the label).

Re: BD-RE BU40N Revision: 1.04
This might be a dumb question, but since it says ROM 1.03 on it (I assume manufactured with that) and has arrived to him with 1.04, does this mean they're upgrading the firmware at suppliers?
