That sounds like some awesome work you've done! I'll send you a PM to discuss further, so that this thread can stay focused on your feature request.

Re: [Feature Request] Preserve CEA-608 Closed Captions in MPEG-2 video streams
I don't know specifically about those features. I haven't seen any of those effects in my files. Once you have the rcwt-bin file you could output to a ton of different formats. If you have software that supports it, SCC and SCC disassembled might be good for editing. I believe ccextractor can use SC...

Re: [Feature Request] Preserve CEA-608 Closed Captions in MPEG-2 video streams
I agree that if makemkv would leave the CEA data alongside the video (as it is on the DVD), that would be helpful! Ffmpeg can copy CEA608 data during transcoding, but cannot mux it in separately yet. So if the CEA608 data was alongside, you could carry it through. Or if you're not transcoding, then ...

Re: Extracting subtitles
Sorry, just hearing about CCExtractor support in MakeMKV. I've been using CCExtractor for a couple years to get CC from older DVDS. This is a great development for MakeMKV! You mentioned the alternate output formats from CCExtractor: I believe this won't give the outcome needed (preserve screen posi...

Re: UHD drives
I forget who was it that flashed the wh16ns60? And what service code was it? You mean the other famous Italian? jgirot? SVC code: NS60, Mfr: June 2017, ROM Ver: 1.00 These are on sale for $70 at Fry’s or 40% off. Wondering if I should buy any. That's up to you my friend. I've been told that there a...

Re: Are there any drives left with the right specs?
What's going to happen when the supply of friendly drives finally dries up? People can start cross-flashing. I personally have crossed my LG WH16NS60 (fw 1.00, svc code NS60) to a WH14NS40 fw 1.00 Hopefully in the future there will be other methods of flashing that will make it easier for people. A...

Re: UHD drives
For real? What's the speed like doing a rip? As those drives are newer they seem a little bit more solid, but they're more expensive. Oh and as long as I'm around, supplies are not drying up of friendly's, lol. Yes, for real. I picked up the drive before anyone knew it would be a problem. Not exact...

Re: UHD drives
Hi everyone! I wanted to jump in here and report that I successfully cross flashed my LG WH16NS60 (fw 1.00, svc code NS60) using TeddyRaspin's instructions to a WH14NS40 fw 1.00 I haven't seen any other reports of cross-flashing this drive, so I wanted to make it known that it's possible. Also, it s...
