Mike! Please? I have an LG that needs some love. Teddy Raspin's method didn't work for me.

Re: Blueray drive becomes unknown to system after completion
The first step in "fixing this" will have to be figuring out whether it's MakeMKV doing it or not. I do not know what the Mac equivalent of the Windows Task Manager is, but, when this happens, is MakeMKV showing up in the task display as using CPU time? If it is, does killing that task &q...

Re: SUDDENLY ASUS BW-16D1HT READING AT 2.0X (8.9 M/s)
I also got an LG WH16NS40 because they said it would work if it had SVC code NS50, but my firmware was too new. And I can't make heads not tails of Teddy Raspin's instructions. It is extremely simple once you decide to follow his instructions and have the right hardware to do it. I struggled over t...

Re: Blueray drive becomes unknown to system after completion
Me too, but slightly different. MakeMKV struggles to eject the movie, but desktop shows disc as mounted. But the WORST part: the disc keeps seeking after it's completed ripping, light keeps blinking, and when I finally get the disc out, it feels VERY warm. I'm afraid it's damaging my discs. Can we p...

Re: SUDDENLY ASUS BW-16D1HT READING AT 2.0X (8.9 M/s)
I've ripped about 4-5 more, averaging peak rates of 6-8x again. It was just the one movie. Definitely varies widely though, some discs read slower. And rates generally faster for Blu-rays than UHD Blu-rays. @FLJoe, if you're not too pot committed to your 2-drive RAID 0, I highly recommend the Open D...

Re: SUDDENLY ASUS BW-16D1HT READING AT 2.0X (8.9 M/s)
UPDATE:
Coco is reading at 5.4X already, so it must have just been the Blade Runner 2049 disc. Weird. I'll update further if anything changes. I hope I never have to rip THAT disc again!!!

Also going to see if it's just this disc, but I don't remember it being this slow on this disc last time I ripped it.

SUDDENLY ASUS BW-16D1HT READING AT 2.0X (8.9 M/s)
Has anyone else had this happen to them? My Asus BW-16D1HT w/ firmware 3.00 has been an amazing workhorse. It's ripped about 60 UHD Blu-rays plus a couple dozen 1080p Blu-rays. It reads UHD at approx. 4-9X normally (30-50 minutes per movie). But suddenly this afternoon it was taking 2+ hrs, reading ...

Re: Compatible MAC UHD Drives
I'm using the same drive (Asus BW-16D1HT), but from Amazon.com. Mine came with v3.0, works beautifully. I got the same OWC case, but straight from OWC. It's FABULOUS. The front bezel is a little thin and flimsy, but the case itself is pretty legit, USB 3 port, shock mount at 4 points per side, plus ...

1.9.9 and 1.9.10 not working for me on the HD-DVDs that have failed with 1.12.0. I'm cutting my losses.

Re: Extract only audio files
I have the same question, but with a different goal as OP. Looks like OP wants to extract the audio track from ripped MKV files, which can be demuxed from the MKV. OTOH I want to rip JUST additional audio tracks from the discs WITHOUT video in order to mux them into my existing rips without re-rippi...

Re: Firmware Downgrade On a Mac?
This is AMAZING, but has anyone successfully done this on a Mac? Same question from me. I've bought an ASUS BW-16D1HT and one of these enclosures. I just got the OWC case myself; VERY few ODD case options these days, as everyone's gone to thumb drives and those slim drives. What's your firmware ver...

Firmware Downgrade On a Mac?
This is AMAZING, but has anyone successfully done this on a Mac? I'm thinking of trying: 1. USB FreeDOS stick https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ye ... ng.238190/ or https://honeypot.net/making-dos-usb-images-on-a-mac/ https://honeypot.net/making-dos-usb-images-on-a-mac/ 2. Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS

LG WH16NS40 svc code NS50 purchased this week from Amazon came with FW 1.03 does NOT recognize UHD discs Questions: 1. I am planning on do...
