Re: Verbatim 43890 External Slimline Mobile USB 3.2 Blu-ray Writer UHD Problem
If it's new stock it contains a LG BU40N and you can flash it according to the UHD guide. If it's old stock it might contain a Pioneer UD03 and you have to post again so I will forward a package to flash it.
Many thanks my drive has arrived and I have some spare time to flash it. The ...

Re: Verbatim 43890 External Slimline Mobile USB 3.2 Blu-ray Writer UHD Problem
My optical drive has recently failed so looking to get a replacement. Before purchasing can I ask a sanity check please: if I get a Verbatim 43890 will I be able to flash this drive myself?

Re: Audio track for Backdrop Theme files
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I am referring to the splash screen. The video splash screens often have two parts first time view and a secondary view chapter. I have tried turning off the minimum title length to get all files displayed. Alas I still cannnot see those splash screens that are ...

Audio track for Backdrop Theme files
Hi
I use the backdrop theme files i.e. the main menu track in my playback application as I like the audio whilst browsing content.
Most of these extract as simple MKV files with video and audio tracks which work as normal. However, a few discs use just a picture and an audio file. It is the audio ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Firstly, many thanks for all the help from everybody. I am now able to open UHD discs with Makemkv.
I had some problems getting a bootable USB drive so there are the issues I had and the solutions.
1) USB drive size matters. I first tried a large USB drive and could not get this to boot. I then ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Willing to have a go at downgrading the firmware, I tried the instructions but ran into two problems:
1) Winhex trail version only works with 200KB files, the flash dump is larger than this. How do you do the hex editing part?
2) Where can I find the LG 1.02 firmware? I prefer to downgrade my LG ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Many thanks for the help, much appreciated as there is a lot to work out.
I only have four UHD discs and all of them fail in the same way. If I have understood correctly Makemkv should take a AACS dump if there is a key issue but I get no dumps so it looks like the drive. I can, however, read blu ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Hi, I have a BW-16D1HT. Details as follows:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1HT
Revision: 3.02
Firmware date: 2117-11-15 17:16:
I thought firmware 3.02 was OK for a UHD friendly drive but when I load my UHD disk Makemkv spins for a few seconds and reports No Disc.
Is this disk failure due to ...
