Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
Hello Stupidly I upgraded my WH14NS40 to 1.05. Then I bought my first ever 4K Blu Ray disc. Have you read and tried the method discussed here yet: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 And we can’t stress enough to carefully read and pay attention to the instructions and/or w...

When MakeMKV got ahead of all other competitors in several areas of development a few of those competing developers made public that they reached out to MakeMKV requesting some sort of deal agreement to partner/use/license features used by MakeMKV and it was also made public by them that Mike explic...

Re: LibDriveIO release date?
Hello! I do know that it is used in MakeMKV, but I mean the release of the full source code of that so it could be used in other projects! Also thank you for pointing out that the source is included for the Linux version! But as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to be the complete library, just th...

Re: LibDriveIO release date?
This is the MakeMKV support forum and currently the MakeMKV software does support the Libredrive feature on supported drives. And that support is thoroughly discussed within this forum. Which was enabled (“released”) for said application quite some time ago. So what exactly are you looking for? What...

Re: can i downgrade firmware for LG BH16sn40 using firmware from WH16SN40?
Well, that is a very important point you did not clarify at the start of all this. Because there are multiple flashing methods floating in the net as you have already witnessed. At this point—and as Marty advised in one of his posts above—your drive is now “screwed”. You’ll be better off to buying a...

In addition to Billy’s advise, what is discussed here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=24276 May *possibly* also apply to your case if after properly cleaning nothing changes. Just slightly in reverse. Where in your case the laser that reads DVDs may be defective in some way. ...

Re: Help an idiot with a 1st gen WH14NS40
I am trying to recover my WH14NS40 drive after updating with NS50 firmware. However, when I use the EEPROM DATA MOVER, the message "incorrect firmware file" appears. No matter what I do, it always shows the same error message. Any suggestion? Have you by any chance already tried the recov...

Re: WH16NS40: Blu-ray and UHD no longer work but DVD does
Unfortunately, these LG drives often appear to fail before or after flashing. Many discussions on bad QA/QC floating around on the part of LG. There are dozens of existing discussions from members noting/reporting similar issues with this drive and other LG “sister” drives (e.g, WH14NS40, WH16NS60, ...

Re: can i downgrade firmware for LG BH16sn40 using firmware from WH16SN40?
i had contacted LG also and thought i would get somewhere with them but they now are not replying That is because you “illegally” flashed your drive through a flashing method and with firmware that is 100% not supported officially by LG. Every modification that is discussed within the walls of this...

Try your luck at contacting Mike (owner/developer of MakeMKV) at:
support@makemkv.com
With all error and dump logs and a link to this post to see if he can assist further. He can get very busy at times, but it’s worth a shot.

Re: shattered Blu-ray disk
This happens, sometimes when drives fail or in some cases when there may be defects on the disc or from disc manufacturing. Have had it happen to me even 10+ years ago. Not really anything MakeMKV support can do on hardware failures like this. Best bet is to replace the drive as small pieces can or ...
