Re: Dolby Vision?
There has already been some discussion on this in multiple threads in fair detail. The short answer is no due to difficulties in or lack of DV support in many areas at this time. Currently applies to full backups and MKV files. The long answers: 1. A Google search will provide several answers/discus...

Re: Anyone have an image of the driver disc for BE16NU50?
That is because most drives (and a lot of other new PC hardware for that matter) do not come with a "driver disc" anymore. That is a thing of the past. Saves the manufacturers money/time to post it on their site for download if it's needed. Won't find something that the manufacturer does n...

Re: BC-12D2HT v3.01 NO DISC
There is a likelyhood that firmware is newer and has fixed the loophole. You will have to downgrade.

Re: UHD drives
May I have some real help with possible causes for these errors? I've got a stack of these LG drives I'm going through and have not had a lot of successes yet. I can't accept that a brand new drive could start failing this fast. Please suggest best practices for troubleshooting this. The disc is no...

You need to read Mike’s post above. He explicitly provides instructions where to send them.buffalo master wrote:Where do we send dumps? I badly want Dolby Vision support.

Is your drive's firmware the correct and required version for properly decrypting UHD BDs as discussed in this thread? http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=16832 If you are on the correct and required firmware version, are you following Mike's instructions and placing the hash key ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Thank you for your reply. OK, sounds good. I realize the ultimate test is to try it with a UHD disk. What threw me was the listing of all the non-checked HD alternatives. Do other people's UHD friendly drives list all the HD read/write features as unchecked? In addition the read out from VSO Inspec...

Re: UHD drives
I'm happy with my uhd friendly LG drive its been a really good drive, however im aware that it will eventually go bad as time goes on.Ive reviewed the list of friendly uhd drives on the first page, the prospect of possibly having to flash a drive with friendly firmware seems daunting to me,so im not...

Just received an LG WH16NS40 SVC: NS50 with FW 1.03 manufacture date looks to be Feb 2018 MakeMKV will not read UHD disc (unless I'm somehow doing wrong) Assuming 1.03 is making it not possible? What is proper method to either downgrade FW and/or cross flash with ASUS fw? Sorry, i read through this...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I got the ASUS BW-16D1HT from a local store. The only one on the shelf. Manufactured 1/2017. It says BlurayDisc, ASUS, E-Green M Disc on the tray front. I ran VSO Inspector on it which states it's running Firmware 3.00 with an odd Date code W006706S...etc. Under DVD features it says Region code: No...

Re: UHD drives
Bunch of early 2017 ASUS BW-16D1HTs at this location as well, what firmware version am I looking for? The sticker is rather cryptic. Thank you, Alex MakeMKV will return the Firmware version ("Revision") once the drive has been installed. The Asus drives do NOT have the Firmware listed on ...

Re: First Ultra HD Blu-ray PC Drive
Unsure what you’re getting at, but the first “official” UHD drive for PCs was released by Pioneer on February of 2017 in the U.S. and worldwide. There are at least half a dozen official drives out in the market now.
