Re: SDFtool Flasher

Make sure there is no disc in the drive and that the flasher shows 2 green ticks, 1 for MT1959 platform and 1 for encrypted firmware. If the encrypted firmware shows a red X, click on it to toggle it to the green tick. You should be able to flash BU40N 1.03-MK firmware. Thanks Marty. I think my iss...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

Are you using a USB-> SATA adapter or an enclosure? The safest method is to connect directly to SATA of an dektop PC. Have you checked in Makemkv if the flash process was successful or does it still show that Libredrive is not enabled? The drive is in an Archgon Enclosure, and I was hoping not to h...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

I'm trying to flash a BU40N from 1.02 to 1.03MK using the tool, but I keep getting 'Command produced error code 0xff05c103'. Could anyone advise what I'm doing wrong? I've upgraded a few of these drives successfully in the past, but not for a while. Any advice much appreciated. If the drive has NOT...

Gladiator 4K - first ever failure to rip

I've been a MakeMKV user for many years now, and have ripped my whole collection of almost 1,000 discs. There have been a few problems along the way, but all got sorted out, until I tried to rip Gladiator 4K. I've now tried three copies of the disc, two different UHD drives, and MakeMKV on two Macs ...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

Thanks for all of the work that has been put in on this. I've got two BU40N drives that I flashed to 1.00 years ago using the original ASUS flasher. Is there any advantage in moving them to the 1.03 firmware using the new method, or am I just as well sticking with what I've got if they are working ...

Re: Nobody 4K (UK)

I just bought this disc and I can't work out what titles to use to get forced subtitles only. I usually just select everything and then turn subtitles on or off in Infuse which I use for playback. On this title, I can only seem to get subtitles for everything, not just the non-English language dialo...

Re: Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist

Thanks both. It is indeed the UHD disc.

It looks as though the Director's Cut is about 3.5-4 minutes longer than theatrical so that could well be it.

Star Trek: Wrath of Khan correct playlist

My UK purchased disk has got two playlists. I expect that this is the correct one: Title information Name: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Source file name: 00800.mpls Duration: 1:53:03 Chapters count: 17 Size: 52.2 GB Segment count: 17 Segment map: 7,18,67,101,69,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77,78,83,79,84...

Really slow ripping since 1.15.1?

I've been using MakeMKV on Mac OSX for years, but it has got really slow since I upgraded to 1.15.1. Ripping a UHD movie now seems to take about 2 hours, compared to about 30 minutes on the older version. I'm using the same drive and nothing else has changed. The rip speed seems to top out a 3.2x no...

Re: Midway question

I'm having the same issue. I think it is most likely to be 504, because the segment map is the same, it's just the filename that is different. Here is the detail on the US disc from the other thread: Title information Name: Midway (English) Source file name: 00504.mpls Duration: 2:18:25 Chapters cou...

Re: UHD (Official) Friendly Drive - Archgon MD-8107S-U3-UHD (Powered by LG BU40N)

Has anyone successfully used this drive with the USB-C lead that is supplied with it? I connected it to my iMac this way and it worked fine at first, but now it powers the drive, but it won't read discs. When I swap back to the standard USB lead it works fine. It's not a massive problem, but more co...
