Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
I have a BU40N that is _not_ working with firmware 1.01, but it seems to be some other weird kind of firmware, maybe? The Drive Information box in MakeMKV reports this (on a Mac): Drive Information OS device name: /dev/rdisk2 Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU40N Revis...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
What OS are you on? For me, on Linux, this is what MakeMKV looked like after ripping a disc on my laptop: https://owncloud.now.ai/index.php/s/UPb1hifvpgog22d The "DEBUG: Code 03DF/..." line is what you should see if it's successfully able to rip from your drive. My BU40N worked fine with ...

Re: Converting UHD Friendly drive into UHD Real and viceversa
Has anyone successfully cross-flashed a BU40N? I was able to cross flash 2 different firmware (WH16NS40 and BW-16D1HT), but neither would allow the drive to open. The drives were recognized correctly by all computers, it just would open. I have it flashed back to the original for now and its workin...

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?
I've been ripping UHDs now for the last day and only now realizing that Dolby Vision isn't part of the fun just yet. It is puzzling though from a technical perspective. It's not like DV and MKV can't be a thing together. LG has published a couple of demos showing off DV as a feature of their TVs an...

Re: UHD The Last Jedi failing at 27Gigs
Thanks Liquidmetal! I finally gave up and exchanged the disk for the Metal Box Best Buy edition. Popped it in and bam it worked on the first pass for both the BluRay and UHD versions of the movie. I am all set. I think the key for the NON-METAL BOX version might not be in the code file. Regards The...

Re: UHD sourced from 2K files
Call them fake or whatever but there are some UHD discs that look absolutely fantastic from a 2k DI. exactly, this is not a black\white issue. Simply calling it "fake" so it must be bad is a disservice to other users and yourself (not whom I am quoting). There are 2k DI sourced that look ...
