Re: Setting a default subtitle
That's funny - I see a lot of posts asking how to do the opposite. Download the mkvmerge GUI toolset. Within there, run the MKVMerge tool and choose File> Header Editor. From there you can edit the individual header elements, and save them without having to re-output the entire file. Yeah thanks, I...

Setting a default subtitle
Is there a way to mark a subtitle as the default track? (So it turns on automatically)

Re: Scsi errorrs?
Actually, turns out its not the DVD drive - its a specially formatted partition on a harddrive, made (from manufacturers) to look like a DVD drive to the system.
So the only fix would be to disable the hang scan of makemkv

Bug popup
Every time I quit the latest version of the program, after a second this annoying popup shows up
"Fatal error occurred, program will now exit." (And here I thought it had exited)

Re: "Cinavia" watermark protection
there's no need to worry about DVD's and Cinavia when using MakeMKV. Time will tell... The Cinavia watermark isn't a data field, it is sound signal interleaved in the actual sound of the of material. There can be different kinds of 'flags' embedded, it could say this material is only for show in a ...

Request: Skip start scan
It would be nice if there was an option to skip the initial device scan - it takes a long time and if you are not going to use it anyway if you are just loading files of the harddrive it can be a bit annoying. So perhaps an on demand scan instead?

How about just not having the program print that?mike admin wrote:Your drive doesn't confirm to SCSI MMC specification - I suggest updating drive firmware. It must be a really cheap drive. The error itself is harmless.

mkv generation error
It starts writing an mkv and then just stops after having written 30mb, with this error:
LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: MKV_ASSERT: TimecodeDelay >= int16(0x8000) && TimecodeDelay <= int16(0x7FFF)

Re: MakeMKV generating bad MKVs?
@setarip_old But it would help if we could get a list of what files MakeMKV puts in the mvk, what their task and format is - so we might figure out what is going on. The MKV muxer used by MakeMKV is open-source and latest version is always available for download from our site with makefiles for lin...

You run the MKVs made by MakeMKV through mkvtoolnix and then they work. To me that doesn't absolve MakeMKV of culpability.
