Re: Predator (1987) UHD
You should send it in as according to http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16765 I wasn't sure if this was still the way it was being handled since the change to hashed keys. Also don't assume I'm an idiot because of my post count, I've been using MakeMKV for a long time and I kno...

Predator (1987) UHD
I haver the latest hashed keys text file and purchased the single movie (not the multipack with all 3). It is being reported as unsupported even though I see it listed in the text file. Is there perhaps a different key for the individual release vs the 3 pack?
Anything I should try? Thanks

Which title is the correct one for Coco?
Does anyone know which title is correct for ripping Coco? I have the retail disc. There are 3 and all have the same length, size, and number of chapters. The segment map is different though. Locked in favor of existing (and now properly placed) topic http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t...

Re: UHD sourced from 2K files
Not to get technical but madvr on 1440p will pass HDR thru-put if you own HDR compatible card. I choose to use pixel shader math and switch my TV to bt2020 color. Set nits at 390 and the HDR disks look way better than my Samsung uhd player. HDR TVs have a BIG problem with local dimming in HDR mode....
Re: MKV HDR?
It does, on the Nvidia shield which as far as I know is the only device that can play lossless audio including immersive audio and HDR from Plex.Eddy555 wrote:Plex doesn't support HDR yet.
Nor Atmos or DTS:X.
Have to use Kodi for the moment.

That makes more sense.priitv8 wrote:Yep. The DoVi enhancement layer for UHD is 1/4 of the frame size, ie 1920x1080.
See the BL;EL column in section 2.1 Dolby Vision bitstream profiles of the document for details:

The profile used on UHD BD is dvhe.07

Re: UHD sourced from 2K files
Call them fake or whatever but there are some UHD discs that look absolutely fantastic from a 2k DI.

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?
Look again, it says 1080p not anywhere specifying dolby vision or HDR10 there so I don't know what your screenshot is supposed to show us.wiesel wrote:I can see both layers (HDR10 + DV) if I use MKVToolNix. MakeMKV can only see HDR10.

Re: Any luck with Dolby Vision titles?
With latest Updates I've been able to rip quite a few of my UHD's, a number of which are Dolby Vision titles. I'm just ripping out the main Audio/Video/Subtitle tracks to an MKV file and so far everything is working great on playback except for Dolby Vision. When I try to play a Dolby Vision title ...

Re: A little confused
Another complication my Sony ubpx800 UHD player says unsupported audio. I was clicking different files from the stream folder from a rip and it did play a TrueHD file just not from MKV. Yeah, unfortunately a lot of devices don't support the same codecs when they are playing from a Disc versus when ...

Re: 1080p vs 2160P
Loads of advice. Thank you. The nvidia shield has been on my mind but I recall codec issues when first released with their forums abuzz begging for codec pacs even for purchase. my next step, however, is to upgrade my gpu as I wonder if current has a problem; I know pascal arch is good for passing ...
