Re: Ubuntu Example Machine?
As I said in your other post the solution to play VC1 and WVC1 with mplayer is to use "-demuxer lavf" option on the command line. Makemkv does its job, take the video from a blueray and put it on a mkv, as simple as that. About the installation I don't understand what's the problem with co...

Re: Ubuntu can't play MKV files?

Re: How-To Install Guide for Ubuntu
You can use checkinstall to create .deb packages, but it would be great if the author give us official packages for major distributions when MakeMKV reaches stable status.

Re: Ubuntu can't play MKV files?
If you are trying to play a wvc1 mkv use -demuxer lavf parameter with mplayer, that should work. If this don't work you need to tell the order of codecs to use. Here is my mplayer parameters (note I'm using Nvidia VDPAU, not valid for ati) -vo vdpau -vc ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,ffh264vdp...

Re: PLEASE PLEASE Add TrueHD ripping for Blu-Rays
It's great to know that flac support is planed for later versions (you have one future buyer here ) but, do you think it would be possible to convert dts-ma to flac too?

Re: TrueHD
I see Flac as an option not as a replacement of current core extraction. It is too exotic for hardware players yes, but not so much for software players; having in mind that htpcs is getting very common nowadays, i think it is an interesting option.

Re: TrueHD
But what about flac? It can be played from a mkv container, it's free and open source, cross-platform and lossless. I think that if the objective of MakeMKV is to obtain a copy of a blue-ray disc movie with the same quality on to a mkv this is the way to go. On films that occupy around 25GB (Dark Kn...
