Re: MD5 of the same files are different

Yes, it's expected. Among other things, there's a unique text header in the metadata of all MKVs. Use MediaInfo to poke around.

Code: Select all

General
Unique ID : 261860272940468430999439405479738788489 (0xC500743F4077B1B7804D3A3D082CCA89)

Re: MakeMKV not showing Source File Name

I've been using MakeMKV for quite a while and I've never been able to see the MPLS file names that everyone talks about when looking for the correct movie file. In fact even the segment map never seems to correlate with what others are posting. All I see is: Title information Source title ID: 1 Dur...

Re: Dolby Digital selected by default instead of DTS HD MA

OK thanks but do you have a version that just selects the best quality audio stream? In the Advanced tab I have Default chosen for "Default profile" then for "Default selection rule" I have -sel:all,+sel:eng,-sel:core The first part deselects *everything* The second part then go...

Re: Titles out of sequence when ripping tv shows

Are you sure this is a problem with MakeMKV? There have always been some TV DVDs where the episodes are out of order. I doublecheck everything anyway because it only takes a few seconds per episode, so it's really not that big of a deal. I haven't noticed any more being out of order lately than befo...

Re: Chapters - disable/enable option

You could make a batch file using mkvpropedit to loop through the mkvs after MakeMKV creates them. Something like

Code: Select all

for %%a in (*.mkv) do mkvpropedit.exe %%a --chapters ""
It's not ideal, but it's only one extra click.

Re: How do I select all BD stereo tracks in English?

This works for me. Deselect everything, then only select English, then deselect the redundant core tracks from being separated out and taking up space. Catches all the English subs, too. -sel:all,+sel:eng,-sel:core Start from there and tweak if you don't want subs or need other languages or whatever...

Re: Forced subtitles - flag not being set in MKV file?

I've been doing a lot of forum reading to try and understand why the movies I've been ripping from Blu-Ray aren't showing the forced subtitles in Kodi. There have been some really helpful posts and I now appreciate the fact that the m2ts file can contain a subtitle track with both forced and unforc...

Re: Determining correct title on BD with MULTIPLE titles

I may have missed it... so please be patient with me. But within the simpler process at the bottom of the instructions, how do you complete the step "Then go to the backup and start checking correct segment order for each title". Should I look inside the Stream Folder as discussed in Step...

Re: Won't open .iso file

I have a .ISO file of a TV show that I'd like to rip into individual episodes, however MakeMKV refuses to open the file stating only, "Failed to open disc". I can open the ISO in VLC & play it, though I don't get any menus, but I'm not sure VLC supports DVD menus. Any suggestions or t...

and btw, you didn't answer the question of how does one actually view the .m2ts file(s)..... make yourself useful and answer that question so someone else might benefit from your knowledge and not your smarta*s comments.... Once you've decrypted the Blu-ray with MakeMKV, you'd be hard-pressed to fi...

Re: Multiple possible Titles, workflow...

First of all, let's stop pretending you spent $300 trying to figure out which playlist is correct so your daughter can watch a god-awful Tyler Perry movie on Bluray  At least one version of the disc uses playlist 497, and the length is actually 1:52:10. If that doesn't work for you, decrypt the...

Re: Enhancing multiple concurrent disc rips

Of course, you could always use the batch rippers mentioned on this forum. They only rip on disc at a time but since it happens unattended you can easily do it over night or when you're away from your computer. And that would help how? Getting the first three rips started isn't a problem as long as...

Re: DTS-HD MA - Why are MA and Core both selectable ?

I like the fact that the core is nested because it absolutely *is* related to the MA. It's the exact same audio just at a different quality. If the core were to be listed separately at the same level, then it just gets lumped in with any other DTS tracks as though it might actually be distinct. Even...
