Re: Dawn of Planet of the Apes
Assuming that the disc is already in the hash file, it could be helpful to know what drive you and using as well as the firmware version number.

Re: small suggestion
yeah the software is valuable no doubt about that. but you see personally i just have a series to back up. i have something like 50 DVD to rip. it's quite a number, but apart from that i'm pretty sure i won't use the soft for 5/6 years. maybe they should add a donation button. better lot of small, ...

Re: small suggestion
Hello, i love the soft. ....and also i find the price tag of the soft a bit high. i mean it's great soft, but 60E, no way someone will purchase it for supporting the company After I had used the program for less than a month, I realized what a great value it is and paid the $50.00 (US). I have spen...

Re: Movies play fine, but about 50 files are created?
You can avoid all the little 'extras' by setting a 'Minimum title length (seconds)' on the Options > Video tab... I set mine to '1500' & typically only get the main feature. YMMV The only problem with this approach is that you can miss some of the extra's on the disc such as behind the scenes v...

Re: Redbox Discs And Why???
No replies to this one eh? I figured it would be crickets. I wish the 4K UHD blu rays were a tad less expensive, but considering all you get in one package I've no problem shelling out twenty bucks to own one. These triple layer discs are definitely the most finicky media I've dealt with, and I use...

Re: Washed the Disk--It Made No Difference
Thanks for all the links and suggestions. There was a mention of a BluRay reader that plugs into a different power source than the computer, and I wonder if somebody has a comment on that. Is your blu-ray player a stand alone unit or is it built into your mac? If it is a stand alone, does it only p...

Re: UHD Ripping failing all of a sudden...
Any other tips for cleaning discs or getting them to read? I have tried cleaning my drive with one of those discs with the little brushes on it and applying rubbing alcohol to the problem discs and buffing them clean with a fresh microfiber towel, but I have still have 3 new UHDs that I can't rip. ...

Re: MakeMKV now fails to complete BluRay backup every time
Thanks for the suggestions. I will endeavor to record the error messages next time :( . The discs I am having trouble backing up are new and squeaky clean, with no visible scratches. I made many successful backups, including discs that had some micro-scratches. Then, as I mentioned, I could not fin...

Re: UHD conversion time
Nobody has any thoughts on this? Wish I could help answer the question, but I only use MakeMKV and only keep my rips at their original size. I never make them into smaller files. Also, you stated, Using DVDFab to CONVERT a MKV file is taking forever . I don't understand why you are asking this ques...

Re: Illegal Request Copy Protection Key Exchange Failure | W
Revocation is where a table included in the AACS information on a disk lists access keys that are forbidden to access BDs. Usually is the key used by a player that was compromised, but sometimes it's the key being used by MakeMKV or one of the other disk rippers. Once a drive reads a disk with a re...

Re: Illegal Request Copy Protection Key Exchange Failure | W
Revocation should not happen if AACS is v65 or lower. However, it could - which is why sending that file to Mike is important. I have a question Woodstock, exactly what is revocation? I have ripped probably 125 discs (maybe 25 of them UHD) and have not had a single problem as long as each disc was ...

Re: Episode order on disc
The method that I have used on other series that don't ID the episodes properly is to just watch the first few minutes of the rip and then watch the first few minutes from the disc and compare. That has always worked for me. It takes more time than I would like, but it does work. Good Luck.

Re: "Apocalypse Now" 3-disc BR -- Disc 2 won't rip
I've never heard of the packaging film affecting a disc's readability. I will certainly try a damp soft cloth now. Appreciate it! For cleaning my discs, I use a microfiber cloth with a solution of 50/50 distilled water and rubbing alcohol. Every new disc I get is cleaned by this method. Before I st...

Re: First Try, Probably Wrong Drive
To be precise, what you bought is a official UHD drive. They currently can not be used to rip UHD discs. You need one of the UHD friendly drives that are referenced in d00zah's post above. At some point an official drive might be made to work but not at this time. There are some issues about the fir...
