It is possible of course but it is not of public domain (for obvious reason).

You have to crossflash it to S12UHT in order to rip UHD discs.

1.05 fw version, as well as 1.04, upgrades also kernel part.

It is possible, you only have to wait patiently.

You have to allow internet connection for MakeMKV in order to download latest Hashed Keys
in order to rip UHD content from a protected disk.

You have to wait few weeks.

A further support of any fw version (Libredrive) will come soon, and when I say "soon" I mean few weeks, so I would
buy a Pioneer drive and patiently waiting.

Connecting to a PC via SATA or USB adapter would be the final test to see if it's a MAC problem or the drive dead.

I haven't any further tip or idea to share.

Could you try your drive on PC instead of MAC?

Try also to flash it to its stock firmware and do some tests again.
