Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
You might have been lucky and got an older one, before they changed something in the enclosure that stops flashing and libredrive from working.
I ordered it last week, it arrived today. I bought this one because someone on reddit mentioned it'd worked for them. It worked for me too. Don't ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
That drive can't be flashed in the case last I have seen
I just used my flashed drive to rip a UHD disk, so I do think it works.
Please post the MakeMKV drive information.
Here you go. I flashed it using Windows, but I'm using it on an Apple machine.

Re: SDFtool Flasher
MakeMKV has command line functionality that can be used to flash LG based drives. The SDFtool is a Windows application that provides a Windows GUI interface to that command line functionality. The app thedavidweng pointed to appears to be a Mac application that provides a GUI interface to the ...

Re: UHD Valerian_And_The_City_of_a_Thousand_Planets_3F2B
Hello,
I emailed MKB20_v61_Valerian_And_The_City_of_a_Thousand_Planets_3F2B.tgz. I updated KEYDB.cfg right before attempting the copy.
You do know that MakeMKV's hashed keys database and the KeyDB are two separate things, right?
You email the dump to svq@makemkv.com so a key can be added to ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Honest question, with the supported drives being harder and harder to find, is anyone going to crack this nut for new drives or create something new that works? Or is this hobby going to slowly die as people's drives die? I've been trying to find a backup drive in case another one dies but can't ...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Thanks for the reply - yes, I've been trying using the original USB-A y-cable. I've tried plugging it into two USB 3.0 ports on my laptop and I even tried plugging both cables into this powered USB hub and it still wouldn't read.
When I put in the UHD disc, the drive will make a click/honk/skid ...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
I have a BP50NB40 SVC 52 (manufactured in March 2024 if that matters) and it seems like I've flashed it to a UHD-enabled firmware (it's recognized in MakeMKV), but the drive will not read UHD discs. I've followed the steps a bunch of times and no matter what I do, the drive refuses to ...

Re: Advice needed for flashing OEM LG BU40N (Revision TK03)
Hi all,
I recently purchased a used LG BU40N drive, which appears to have been pulled from a Toshiba Dynabook laptop. It currently has an OEM firmware version "TK03" (Firmware date: 2019-05-10).
I would like to flash it to enable LibreDrive, and I have prepared the "All You Need Firmware Pack ...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U external, MT1959 platform - UPDATE
An update.
BW-16D1X-U MT1959, flashed WP50NB40-NB50 1.03 MK, LibreDrive enabled, eject button no longer works. In SDFTool RECOVER mode, which target firmware should I select: BP60NB10 1.02-MK, BP60NB10-NB12 1.02-MK, BU40N 1.00, or BU40N 1.03-MK?
Isn't this a 5.25" drive??? If so, WTF are you ...

Re: UHD Error Avatar Fire and Ash.
I have been trying to rip the 4K version of Avatar Fire and Ash. I used 2 different Drives: A Buffalo BU10 MO5KC1A4439d and a Pioneer mDisc drive I bought from OWC. Both are external USB drives. The Pioneer gets its power from a power brick. The Buffalo has a double USB pigtail, one USB for data ...

Re: Blu ray player acting as if it were empty, while there is an actual disc in it
The disc was released in 2025 and I bought it like 6 weeks ago, so it should be in decent working order.
Yes I tried cleaning the disc with lens cleaning wipes (I'm a hobbyist photographer so I have plenty of stuff to clean up objective lenses), and I also gave it that static rub you mentioned to ...

Re: Asus SBW-06D5H-U cant read GameCube Discs
Ah. This already helps me. The flashing process went through without any message.
The shown version looked curious to me, but let's face it, I have no clue about that.
So I thought, maybe it just doesn't override the name.
I will try some other older firmware, maybe it will step down from them ...

Re: Blu ray player acting as if it were empty, while there is an actual disc in it
Quite honestly, I don't know what to think about this. The logical explanation would be that this disc copy protection is tampering with my drives ability to read it, we had this a while ago with copy protected CD and car CD players for instance. But the thing is I don't see myself spending around ...
