Re: UHD Enabled Drives (Australia, NZ & Singapore among others!) & DIY "Single Drive Flasher UI" available worldwide!!

Is there any difference between the UD03 and UD04 or are they the same drive ? Is that why you can crossflash them ? And if you have a UHD enabled firmware is there any change to that compared to original firmware in terms of writing quality to media or reading discs etc, other than you can read UH...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT - Poor Quality for Older DVDs?

I've had my ASUS BW-16D1HT (USB connected) with the Libredrive firmware enabled for about 2 years. It's been working ok, however, recently I've noticed that older DVDs have produced MKVs that freeze. I have noticed this after ripping: The King of Queens - all seasons, Cliffhanger, and The Running M...

Re: UHD Enabled Drives (Australia, NZ & Singapore among others!) & DIY "Single Drive Flasher UI" available worldwide!!

Stock levels updated in first post. All Pioneer branded drives are now gone! There will be no more. All I have left are some Verbatim 43887's with the Pioneer BDR-UD03 cross-flashed to BDR-UD04 firmware for UHD compatibility available. I am currently unable to source any Verbatim 43888's or 43889's ...

Re: LibreDrive and revocation list update protection

When LibreDrive mode is activated by MakeMKV, it puts the drive into a mode where: The drive does not update its internal revocation list, even if it sees a newer MKB. This is not true. The drive always checks it's revocation list and updates it when it sees a newer MKB. Libredrive does not stop th...

Re: Looking for firmware for a lg hl-dt-st-bd-re wh14ns40

Hello! I have a lg hl-dt-st-bd-re wh14ns40. Will it read and burn 4k? If so where would I find the firmware? Thanks You need to copy/paste the MakeMKV drive info & libredrive info sections. WH14NS40 drives manufactured from 2016 and have the MT1959 drive platform can be flashed for UHD readabil...

Even though it showed otherwise, this drive is not capable of 4K Reading/Ripping

Thanks
What showed otherwise? Are you talking about libredrive? If so, libredrive enabled does not equal UHD readability.

We all know the Panasonic and Shit drives cannot read UHD.

Re: Question about blu-ray drives.

@MartyMcNuts aha. That is nice, perhaps there are no UD04 with 1.20 firmware. Who knows, the pictures on Ebay could be fake as there is no way of knowing for sure and all the sellers are in China. Good to know you have drives left, it would be easy to ship to my destination. I am holding out for As...

I have the opportunity to purchase it. The firmware is 100% newer than 12-2022. I don't know what to do, hence my question.
Depending on the price, is probably worth the risk anyway, even if it can never be made to read UHD as it'd be a good blu-ray ripper regardless and near impossible to find.

Aha! Marty — you sir are an absolute legend! You were spot on; I’d completely forgotten the 'enc' in the command. As soon as I added that, everything behaved exactly as expected. Thanks again for taking the time to help and for the clear explanation — much appreciated. It’s people like you that mak...

Re: Question about blu-ray drives.

@MartyMcNuts Thanks for that information. That is what I thought, Pioneer is the best option 5.25 or slim drive over other brands. Sadly the scalpers are asking too much for a Pioneer drive and are usually not willing to ship to Europe. I can understand you would have to pay double the price or mor...

I'm curious, does anyone remove their original faceplates & use the faceplates included with whatever case they're using?
No, I prefer the drive's original faceplate.

I had 1 faulty TS14 out of about 80. The board in it was dead.
