Re: SDFtool Flasher
I wanted to create a written document that I could follow in the future for flashing the firmware for LG BP50NB40 SVC:NB52. (I really like this drive and may purchase another one.) I followed the animated GIF video information for details. I later saw another fellow on Youtube (https://www.youtube....

Re: Is my pioneer BDR-XD05s flashable?
I got the PM, flashed the firmware, and it worked reading and making a backup of a 4k Disk. However, now I am unable to burn discs. Is that expected? Is there a way to go back to the OEM firmware? It should not have any effect on writing discs at all. I have tried 2 different programs to burn a dis...

Re: BD-RE WH14NS40 - Flashing Stuck at 0%
That fixed me up. I was able to put on WH16NS40 1.2. Sorry for the bother and thanks for the quick response! You would be better off with WH16NS60 1.02-MK, which is the recommended firmware for your drive (or WH16NS60 1.00 if you use 'other' UHD ripping software) as the NS60 firmware reads faster a...

Re: Pioneer Firmware?
I was told this doesn't work with Pioneer drives ?? For standard blu-ray a dump from any drive will work, even Pioneer. It's just for UHD discs that the public KeyDB can't use some Pioneer dumps. Also, how in the heck did you get from "unable to read a disc" to "I think I need a firm...

Re: SDF update November 2025
Personally, I've never had a drive that MakeMKV has made a dump for, so I'm just guessing. I suggest you try removing _private_data.tar, any .tgz files, keydb.cfg (if you have it), and sdf.bin (if you have it) from your MakeMKV data directory. You don't have to (and probably shouldn't) delete those...

Re: BD-RE WH14NS40 - Flashing Stuck at 0%
Hello folks, I needed to replace my BD-RE WH14NS40 as it finally bit the dust and I purchased a new one. When I try and flash it using the FlashIt tool, it stays stuck at 0%. I tried a few different firmwares in the "downgrade enabled V.2" pack. Here is some additional information on my d...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
PM sent. Hi all. First time poster, first time visitor, first time ripper! I have a similar spec unit to the one described in this thread (info below). I've done some reading on page 1 of this thread and don't see anything on my unit, but it looks like we can handle this in a PM. Here's my specs, T...

Re: SDF update November 2025
Before you do anything, look inside the dump. When I had one, the file inside was 4MB. They just compress really well. Oh, yes, I did that and I found a file "dump_info_PIONEER_BD-RW___BDR-X12_1.07_AFDL000137WL.tar" which is 3Kb. I was expecting a "dump_full_XXXXX" file but it s...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Thank you Marty, I finally received my UHD blu rays from storage and the Buffalo flashed drive works a treat - faster than expected. I really do appreciate all the work you do! Be lucky. :D [quote=McMurphy66 post_id=189135 time=1764735582 user_id=104006] Apolo...

Re: Need some guidance
Hi! Total noob here, so I apologize in advance. I recently purchased the BP50NB40 and flashed HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin I am looking to rip UHD movies, and with this firmware I was unable to rip F1 UHD nor the older Ghost in the Shell UHD. Also, most Blu-rays and DV...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first!
Today i got a UHD disc that shows me many of these m2ts errors and cant be ripped. The first information you get here is to clean your disc. Ok sometimes there are fingerprints or dust on a disc but sometimes the disc is clean and you got also these errors. First i thought that the disc was defect....

Re: SDF update November 2025
Thanks for the reply. Yes, that's what I was afraid of. Does anyone know how I could extract that complete dump so I can send it? I've seen references to the "sdftool" utility, but from what I've seen, it doesn't work with Pioneer devices. Sorry for these newbie questions, and thanks agai...
