Re: SDFtool Flasher

Thanks for the quick response Marty. I followed your suggestion and successfully downgraded my wh16ns60 to Rev. 1.0, but this drive is still unable to play 4K UHD disks. After the downgrade, the drive still plays blu-ray disks without issues but cannot read the 4K UHD disk. Screenshots of those err...

Re: Downgrade WH16NS60

Hi Marty, I have a desktop LG WH16NS60 with a Rev. 1.03 firmware. This plays blu-ray disks but cannot play 4K UHD disks. I have downloaded your sdftool_flasher_1.3.5 and firmware pack, followed by dumping the firmware of my drive successfully ("Read" mode). When I read your earlier posts ...

Re: Help with finding a drive

I'm definitely new to this and all the terminology is pretty confusing. If someone could recommend a drive with the following specifications that would be helpful - able to be flashed - can read /write blu-ray, 4K - internal and slim (to fit in my HP elitedesk 800 g4 SFF) Only the bare BU40N drive ...

Re: BD-RW BDR-S09XLT - 4kUHD discs - MakeMkV reports No Disc Inserted

Hi Forum Users, I have tried to self-support on this but this drive seems to get very few mentions on this forum. My suspicion is that's it's not 4K capable. MakeMKV reports LibreDrive Ready ("Enabled") but in response to inserting a 4K disc it has a good old spin and attempts to read bef...

It must be a bad disk as it happens in the same place. The disc is brand new. The dive is external and it's about 3 weeks old. I don't have any issues with other discs.
Give the disc a good clean before trying again.

Re: Verbatim 43888 "No disc inserted"

Looks like normal blu-rays are having the same problem as 4K's and also coming up with "no disc inserted." Before I had only tested with American blu-rays and it didn't work but I assumed it was because this was a region B player, but now I've just tried with an all-region disk from Indic...

Re: Verbatim 43888 "No disc inserted"

Hey folks, Long-time makemkv forum reader, first-time poster. I was recently inspired by some other posts on this forum to invest in a 4K-compatible drive and read folks mention that the Verbatim 43888 works "out of the box" -- recently imported from the UK into the states and it put me b...

Re: libredrive VERBATIM 43888

Sure enough, I'm ripping a blu-ray. Speed X4 17.1 M/S. It takes me about three hours for 88 GB. Is that a good speed? Once the .MKV file is finished, I could play it with any player, correct? Also, with the extraction, I get the menus and everything that goes with it? Loss of quality? MakeMKV, al...
