Re: Overseas Blu-Ray not ripping
Greetings, and sorry in advance if this is another instance of the same question being asked again. I took a trip to Japan and bought some blu-rays while over there. So far, I've ripped most of them no problem. Now, I'm trying to rip discs that came in a boxset. Disc 1 didn't rip. Fine, I've had th...

Re: Unreadable DVDs?
These are not scratches, the discs play normally in my blu-ray player, one is even brand new, these patterns are from factory and are instantly ‘failed’ when trying to open on PC/MakeMKV, you may never have seen them before, they are pretty rare.. I have 3in1500 discs, The Firm - DVD The BFG - DVD ...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hey Marty! I've got a Verbatim 43888 That shows up as a Pioneer BRD-UD04. It hasn't been able to read any of the UHD disks that i've try to rip using it thus far. When I use the SDFtool Flasher to flash it to the BU40N_1.03_MK (22 Nov 2025) it gives me the "the drive you have selected does not...

Re: Unreadable DVDs?
I’ve recently run into a bunch of DVDs that have these ‘tracks’ in them that kinda resemble records (see attached picture).. having no joy whatsoever getting them to read on any of my drives, what are they called and is there any way to read them? They are circular scratches. Probably can't be read...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Thank you for clarifying that part! i was successful with flashing it! :D :D are there any advantages to one firmware or the other for the cross flash? If you choose BU40N 1.00 firmware, you can also then use other ripping software for UHD discs if you want to. Oh thats definitely is a good option ...

With MakeMKV open? You should have MakeMKV open to enable libedrive before trying to play a disc.Lowrider20251 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 26, 2025 3:26 amJust tried MPC-HC x64 it gives the error that it failed to render the file

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Hi there, i am new to the forum, just starting in the hobby. I purchased a used drive, it was supposed to be a WP50NB40, but i received a 2017 BP50NB40 I thought the WP model was supposed to be easier to flash but not sure if that really matters. Hi All, I've been spending some time trying to get my external drive to work with Blu-ray, but I’ve discovered the current firmware doesn’t seem to expose BD capabilities correctly.
