Re: Firmware help please
Hi Marty, thanks for the clarification! Before I consider the paid UI version, could you please point me to the correct download link for the free SDFtool Flasher CLI version you mentioned? I only need the basic functionality (dump cal data + flash DE firmware), so the CLI version would be perfectl...

Re: Original Firmware request: Verbatim 43888 - LG BU40N
thank you both, I've tried cleaning the disks without any luck Not sure if I want to risk it with the .exe. My current plan is to buy another drive. Copy the firmware. If that drive works well I can just return the faulty one. If they both have the same issues than maybe it is my disks that are fau...

Re: Unable to Read 4K UHD Movies on Brand New Verbatim 43888 BU40N
Were you able to successfully rip Interstellar? I am running into an issue where it fails about 28GB into the rip. I also have the Verbatim/ BU40N drive, flashed to 1.03. I see the movie in Windows, and MakeMKV is able to start the rip, but like I said, it fails just under half way through. Curious...

Re: Original Firmware request: Verbatim 43888 - LG BU40N
Hi all, I wished my first post wasn't a cry for help, but here we are. I've purchased a Verbatim 43888 / LG BU40N and successfully flashed it to 1.03. I've tried many solutions on these forums to problems but I can't get the drive to read consistently. Most of the time it doesn't even recognize the...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Thank you for your reply. You told me the truth, my drive is already ready for UHD Blu-ray. I managed to play the disc directly in VLC, AFTER having to update the makemkv registry. I added some extra files to the VLC Player folder, and I don't know if that's why it plays. However, it's not playing ...

Re: Firmware help please
Looking for confirmation about the correct “Unlocked LG ODD Firmware Utility” for BH16NS40 dump Hi everyone, I’m trying to dump the firmware of my LG BH16NS40 (FW 1.03) before updating it, but the DevilsClaw flasher from GitHub does not work — it only lists drives and treats every parameter after -...

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Yes, email the dump to svq@makemkv.com. Did that over a week ago. You can also make a post for the dump here in this thread as Pioneer drives can be used for dumps now. Just follow the template from the first post. Disc type: UHD Disc ID: 0x76B03A1AAFB3ED94F1B3F050242D1949342587E9 Disc dump filenam...

I have a UHD I can't rip and a Pioneer BD-RW BDR-S12U. My understanding is there's nothing I can do about this except submit the dump to svq and wait? Yes, email the dump to svq@makemkv.com. Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Hi, I've flashed my BP50NB40 to enable LibreDrive for UHD ripping but I'm getting a Code 1 failure when trying to open any 4K disc. Drive info shows LibreDrive as enabled: Product: BD-RE BP50NB40 Revision: 1.03 Firmware date: 2120-05-07 09:17 Bus encryption flags: 17 Highest AACS version: 72 LibreD...

Re: SBW-06D5H-U (A102, MT1959) - need downgrade-enabled (DE) firmware to flash BU40N 1.00 OmniDrive
Hello everyone I recently bought an ASUS SBW-06D5H-U optical drive. I tried to make it LibreDrive/OmniDrive friendly, and I'm stuck on the firmware rollback lock. Tried: Flash HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_1.00_OmniDrive.bin and SDFtool Flasher 1.3.5 rejected it with error 0x82052603 ("Write DRAM NG 05...

Re: Request for help with copying a BD disc
Hello Marty Thanks for the reply. The conclusion is clear: I need to replace the drive. Is there an updated list of compatible drives? The list I saw on the forum probably hasn’t been updated in a while. Unless, of course, manufacturers stopped developing this type of product a few years ago. Have ...

Re: Correct firmware for Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B
Sorry for jumping in on this thread but I didn't think this was worth creating an entirely new thread. I have a Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B drive that I flashed to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin and then HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_1.00_OmniDrive.bin. So far, it seems to be functioning correc...
