Re: SDFtool Flasher
No, you can't do anything with that old drive. It's too old and has the wrong drive platform.ahmedtou wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 8:40 amHi,
Can this method fix my old drive HL-DT-ST BD-RE GGW-H20N with ROM version XA02?
I posted about it here:

Re: Help recovering BH16NS40 misflash
Hi all, I have an LG BH16NS40 (manufactured June 2015, originally ROM 1.03) that I accidentally flashed with WH16NS60 1.02 firmware. The drive is still detected in Windows, the tray opens/closes, but it won’t recognize any discs. I’ve tried SDFtool Flasher but it errors, and I’m unsure if I should ...

Re: Is my version of MakeMKV now toast for UHD ripping until the next update?
No, the flash is good. 1. Power cycle the drive (at least 10 seconds) 2. Insert a disc 3. Wait for the OS to initialize the disc 4. Open MakeMKV and you should be good to go. I power cycled the drive and restarted my PC - popped in The Revenant 4K and the disc info reads fine, but when I go to open...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Before I went to bed last night I noticed MakeMKV had finished, but there was only two files in the Folder. I played the largest one with VLC. It was one of the "extras" and there was no movie to be found. Not one to give up early, I decided to reboot the Box and try again. This time, onc...

Re: But I'm a Cheerleader 4k dump submitted
I was going to do that but according to the page, Pioneer drives are not supported for the keydb.cfg method I do in fact use a pioneer drive (from billy), so I'm not sure if the dump will be helpful if it would be, let me know and I can still upload it Some Pioneer models do produce usable dumps. I...

Usually 3-7 days. Occasionally Mike get's busy and can take up to two weeks.4kCollector wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 2:07 amDoes anyone know how long it usually takes for the discs to be decryptable after emailing the dump? I have this disc but it still won't decrypt. Thanks so much!

Re: Is my version of MakeMKV now toast for UHD ripping until the next update?
The way around this is to get LibreDrive working properly. Once LibreDrive is working properly your drive is effectively immune to any future host certificate revocations. You don't need to wait on an update for MakeMKV. Can you post the drive info displayed by MakeMKV after you flashed your drives...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Either of those firmware files will work. The WH16NS60 1.00, being official UHD drive firmware, will also remove the sleep bug but you may have trouble if you want to burn discs. If you don't care about writing disccs and are only interested in ripping discs (like 99% of us!) it will be fine. Don't...

Re: 1 Blu-Ray and one 4K that will not rip no matter what
I’ve ripped 14 Blu-rays and 8 4K movies over the past 2–3 days without any issues, but no matter how many times I try, I can’t get two movies to rip. I thought I’d post the logs so someone could help me figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Movie 1 4K The Wild Robot Error 'Scsi erro...

I have searched through the KEYDB file and not found an E97B variant for the Coraline 4K Steelbook version so I am posting again considering my previous post was riddled with issues and I hadn't done as much detective work previously. There are multiple other versions and discs made on dates that a...

Re: makemkv LG WH16NS60 4K UHD no disc inserted
Wipe the disc. Try a different disc. Try a different drive. Not the responses I was after, but if that is all I am getting, so be it. Thank you. Cleaning the disc, usually means with soapy water and a soft microfiber cloth. Some people use glasses cleaner spray to clean the discs. They often have a...

Re: BU40N Flash Hangs
Thanks. I ended up addressing this in windows. I'm not sure why it doesn't work in linux. MakeMKV recognizes my drive but would also freeze when trying to load a bluray disc (that I could load in windows; it's not UHD). What's interesting is that when I would start MakeMKV in linux, it would launch...
