Re: Flashing LibreDrives
Appreciate the suggestion MartyMcNuts, Cleaning with a qtip and alcohol has been a big improvement. In windows I can now watch several Bluray disks via VLC and I'm tetsing extracting tracks with MakeMKV. However, in the dedicated Linux box it just stalls 04-18-2026 23:37:53 ARM: INFO: *************...

Re: Question re Pioneer BDR-212BK
Yes, I am familiar with UHD (I have a WH16NS60 that I have previously flashed to read UHDs). I think I misunderstood some posts I had read and thought that Pioneer drives did not need to be flashed to a LibreDrive firmware. Clearly I was wrong and stupid. :) Thanks again for answering my dumb quest...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
So the trick was to only flash DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK.bin and everything worked, no more no less, it's a bit hard to understand sometimes in this forum, what you should actually do, and the guide can be a bit misleading i think. And what about the HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142.bin tha...

Re: Should I email dump if makemkv can decrypt disc with keydb.cfg from FindVUK?
Hi all. So I'm new to UHD ripping so this might be an asked / silly question. So I couldn't decrypt a disc and got the volume key unknown error. I think it could be just that I'm geoblocked from host of the HK file. However, after I downloaded keydb.cfg from http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net/ and plac...

Re: Flashing LibreDrives
Not really sure if it's related but my brand new ASUS BC-12D2HT wasn't able to rip a regular blu-ray on Linux (MakeMKV 1.18.3) until I flashed it with MK firmware. (I don't remember what was the exact response but I think MakeMKV just sort of hang/loop indefinitely when attempt to "parse"...

Re: Flashing LibreDrives
I have two Blueray Drives, A very old Hp DVDWBD TS-LB23L drive and a new HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU50N drive. I had inconsistent results on the HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU50N until I loaded the libredrive firmware, but now that drive rips great. I'm trying to locate the correct firmware for the Hp DVDWBD TS-...

Re: UHD rips not working
I am a total noob at this so forgive me if the answer is obvious. I have spent a few hours trying to figure it out on my own with no luck. I keep seeing this error makeMKV.jpg . This is a newly flashed drive. Steps taken thus far 1) After flash, restarted computer (now said LibreDrive) 2) Added KEY...

Re: UHD Enabled Drives (Australia, NZ & Singapore among others!) & DIY "Single Drive Flasher UI" available worldwide!!
Stock levels updated in first post. All Pioneer branded drives are now gone! There will be no more. I do still have some Verbatim 43887's with the Pioneer BDR-UD03 cross-flashed to BDR-UD04 firmware for UHD compatibility available. I have one Verbatim 43889 with the LG BU40N available. I will contin...

Re: BW-16D1HT stuck in BOOT mode after rawflash - sdftool "No drive tool logic found"
Hi all, Hoping someone can help me recover my drive. I've been trying to flash my ASUS BW-16D1HT (firmware 1.01) to 3.10MK on Linux (Pi OS aarch64) using makemkvcon 1.18.3. I ran the following command which completed successfully (both "Sending flash image" and "Programming flash&quo...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Hey Everyone, I've been an on and off user of MakeMKV for several years now, but I figured it's time to go 4K. In order to be able to rip UHD disks, I got my hands on a Verbatim 43888 drive which has an LG-DT-ST BU40N drive with firmware 1.05. (Who still remembers that company being called Goldstar...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U
Can this really be a drive from LG? The front looks exactly like an Asus BW-16D1HT. Does Asus sometimes slap the faceplate of an Asus BW-16D1HT onto drives from other manufacturers and sell them as Asus drives? IMG_8861.jpg IMG_8855.jpg As mentioned, ASUS do not make drives. They are OEM, mostly fr...
