Nope. You got one of those fakes which is an old drive (usually from 2013, which yours is as the firmware on it is from 2013) with the older MT1939 drive platform. All they do is slap a new label on them!

Re: Recommendations for a new internal UHD drive
There's been an absolute ton of ASUS BW-16D1HT drives on ebay of late that are the older MT1939 drive platform and are incompatible with flashoing for UHD readability. The pictures on the listing show the drive was manufactured in 2022, which is newer than the drive that died on me (2019). Hopefull...

Re: Recommendations for a new internal UHD drive
ASUS don't make drives. The BW-16D1HT is a rebadged LG. Since prices at the moment aren't that much different, you'd be better off getting the Pioneer coop recommended and using it as your workhorse. I got the drive for under $100. The drive was marked as new. The seller had a good rating on eBay. ...

Re: UHD drive quit reading UHD discs
"Clean the lasers and clean the discs. Ensure you are using USB ports direct from the motherboard or an AC powered USB hub of at least 30w." The discs were new and never played until I was able to rip them (which I did once before). I've also purchased 4k of older movies that I know have ...

Re: Recommendations for a new internal UHD drive
I already have a Pioneer, including the flash for it that I bought from BillyCar11. I am looking for something a bit cheaper as my main workhorse drive (e.g. ASUS or LG). Personally, I have had very good experiences with my Asus drives and they pretty much have been able to rip anything that I thro...

Re: Recommendations for a new internal UHD drive
I have an internal Asus BW-16D1HT drive that seems to have recently died after ripping hundreds of discs with it. I went to go buy a new one, but it looks like this ASUS model is discontinued and the prices are really high on it (upper $100s into the $200s - I originally bought it for under $120). ...

Re: UHD drive quit reading UHD discs
Hi everyone. I've been using this (purchased key in 2024) for a while now and you guys have taught me so many things about how to use this program along with being able to flash my drive to read 4k discs even though my LG BP60NB10 says it reads UHD discs when it didn't at first (that was annoying)....

Re: ASUS BH50N : Manufactured 05/15/2024 (BW-16D1X-U Blu Ray)
You could use the ASUS firmware but another option would be the LG WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware. Thank you, gratefully appreciated. I went ahead and did the ASUS one while waiting for replies. I didn't realize my post would be held for review if I edited. Is there any advantage to using LG WH16NS60 1....

Re: LG WH16NS40 not responding to SDFTool_Flasher
For the Pioneers, could you explain which ones are good for UHD? I've read the firmware flashing guide and the updates regarding Pioneer but I still can't tell which generations of Pioneer drives are fine. It sounds like there was awhile while Pioneers couldn't be flashed but that the new ones bein...

Re: BP50NB40
Yeah, I do that. I pick the drive, then the 1.03 firmware that it is on, then I pick the 1.00 to write. It successfully writes, and I startup MakeMKV and nothing has changed. Please go to the first post of the SDFtool Flasher thread and watch the gif. Watch it 50 times if needed. When performing ea...

Re: LG WH16NS40 not responding to SDFTool_Flasher
Haha. You and me both. It really seems like these UDH capable readers have disappeared within the past 6-9 months. I guess it's time to get a refund for my scam drive from ebay and look at Best Buy. Are those slim drives pretty reliable? I assumed that the old internal ones would outlast time itsel...

Re: (Asmcom:) Pioneer UHD 4K Drives, Cheap Shipping, Worldwide Service, Excellent Service!!!
@Asmcom When you say ‘It will easily outperform a host-powered drive’ Can you elaborate please? Some computer systems can have issues when using host-powered drives. If the system’s power dips, a Blu-ray drive may produce read errors.” Weird. I never had that with BU40N USB Adaptor or Vantec solely...

Re: BP50NB40
I followed the steps to do the second part, but it doesn't change anything. I must have done it incorrectly, but I can't tell how, as I followed the steps and repeated everything in the gif. I tried to attach an image of the flasher tool but apparently the board can't accept any more attachments. O...
