You need to use the recovery mode in sdf tool Then just follow the prompts Yep, I tried that... Everything errors out. I even tried 2 old PCs, one of which set to Win98 with Exit to DOS for the DOS Flasher, and it failed every time (I could actually get the drive seen in DOS which surprised me usin...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

sdftool doesn't provide any drive info and throws the no logic error. It won't even show any drive details (firmware version / drive platform etc). Can't use any sdftool commands on it. I'll give it a try later anyway and see if anything happens. low chance this works but have you tried adding this...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

I have come across 1 so far... This Xrtfore says HL-DT-ST and has the CB05 firmware version and shows no libredrive info in MakeMKV, which, to me, implies this enclosure is not allowing commands (including libredrive) to pass through. Even using sdftool in the MakeMKV CLI shows nothing, just an err...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

Your Amazon link doesn't work. The model I have is: https://www.amazon.com.au/XRTFORE-Exter ... 468&sr=8-2 Yep, that looks like the same model on another continent. May yours be better than mine. Mine are shipped from USA so they'd be from the same place. I'll have to test them all. Hopefully t...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

Okay, I have reverted both drives back to 1.00, currently testing on Windows to eliminate any Linux weirdness. Still seeing the same issue. LibreDrive output for both: LibreDrive Information Status: Enabled Drive platform: MT1959 Firmware type: Original (unpatched) Firmware version: 1.00 DVD all re...

Re: Unable to Read 4K UHD Movies on Brand New Verbatim 43888 BU40N

1. I cleaned the disc using a microfiber cloth (going from the inside to outside, and not in circles). 2. Windows can't even see the disc because the drive won't spin up to read the 4K UHD disc. 3. I tried using USB-C, I plugged it straight into a USB 3.1 port on my motherboard, I tried using a USB...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

So let me get this straight, after flashing the problematic drive on the other enclosure did you do a test to see if the drive could read the uhd disc on the same enclosure? I'm not quite certain what you're asking, thanks to the three-card monte of it all. Here's the series of steps I took (best a...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

Pretty sure it's not the disc, since the other drive can rip fine. Is BU40N 1.00 preferred on Windows as well? I think BU40N 1.03-MK has rad issues on Linux but BU40N 1.00 works fine. I always put BU40N 1.00 on these drives as it is compatible with all UHD ripping software, not just MakeMKV and Xre...

Re: Unable to Read 4K UHD Movies on Brand New Verbatim 43888 BU40N

1. Clean the discs. About 90% of the time, UHD discs require cleaning as they often have an invisible layer of film on them from the manufacturing process. 2. Always let windows initialise the disc and once you can see it in explorer, then open up the MakeMKV application. 3. If UHD discs are not se...

Thank you for clarification regarding MakeMKV.

To confirm, for a Model BH16NS58 Rev. 1.03; it is recommended to use BH16NS60-1.02

(P.S. I saw a folder for BH16NS58 with BH16NS58-1.01 in it.)
WH16NS60 1.02-MK is recommended.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Hi, I'm finally getting around to UHD 4K disks. I believe the drive I have is compatible (Verbatim with a Pioneer drive in it). The UHD disc is seen in MakeMKV however when I click on the disc, it tries to use direct disc access but fails with Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2T...

Re: AACS host certificate error from flashed drive

Most likely a power issue causing libredrive to not enable correctly. Use USB-C if possible and use posts direct from the motherboard (not case ports) or an AC self-powered USB hub of at least 24w. Then let the OS initialise the UHD disc and once you can see the disc in explorer, then you can open ...
