No, you will have to remove the bezel and open it up to get to the lasers.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Tried a different computer. Same symptoms. Maybe these are just bad discs. I was able to load and start ripping King Kong: Skull Island. But the rip didn't happen. It never started writing data to the hard drive and the disc just sat there for 10+ minutes before I pulled the plug. Put in one of the...

Re: Cannot send private message
I feel like making it a bit more clear what the requirements to get PM privileges is would be nice. I don't mind having to email somebody for manual whitelisting, but having my profile say "may need to participate in more discussions" is a little frustrating. The rationale makes sense, bu...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Why am I getting this error? How can I resolve this? Screenshot 2026-04-01 005015.png Are you using a real windows 11 64 bit PC or some sort of VM? I am on a real Windows 11 64 bit PC. A Minisforum MS-01. What is the SVC code of your drive? It will be written on the label on the side of the box and...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
if only we all read my guide where its all linked its almost like i made it for no reason While the guide is much appreciated, finding it and locating the resources are nowhere near as straightforward as they could be. If the forum's board index had a 'download' section, with Windows and Mac sub-se...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Yeah I know it’s not encrypted. It still won’t flash from 1.03-MK to 1.00, so I’m looking for help with that. I don’t know why it’s not working. SDFtool shows progress up to 100% and says it completes, but the drive is still on 1.03-MK. Try the RECOVER method and see if that works. In the popup win...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
I moved it to the old drive’s enclosure to flash it to 1.03MK based on info in this forum and that worked, however it’s not working to flash it to 1.0. I also tried a micro sata adapter I have and the flasher won’t work with that either. To flash from 103-MK to 1.00, you don't need enc as MK firmwa...

Re: Will flashing the 1.02MK firmware over the LibreDrive 1.05 firmware cause problems?
Totally up to you but I have read about many people using Parallels on Mac for flashing. If SDFtool recognizes and displays the drive correctly there shouldn't be any issue. Just to be absolutely certiain, it's OK to flash the DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.02MK.bin file to my LG WH14NS40 drive, right? Even thou...

Re: Is there a way to make cheap brand work as a lives drive
I have 2 cheap Blu-ray drives one brand called aelrsoch and one called alphami can I make either one rip a region b blu ray? MakeMKV does not care about region coding. You can rip blu-ray discs from anywhere in the world. I have ripped hundreds of BD from Australia, UK, Germany, Japan, USA without ...

Re: Will flashing the 1.02MK firmware over the LibreDrive 1.05 firmware cause problems?
No, it's fine to flash. WH16NS60 1.02-MK is the recommended firmware for your drive anyway. I have no idea about firmware incompatibility with Linux. If it happens to be MK firmware that is incompatible, you can always try DE WH16NS60 1.00 or DE WH16NS40 1.02 as these are original firmware versions...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having with an archgon LG BU40N slim drive. I used the flasher tool to put the 1.03MK firmware on it because it came with v 1.02 and MakeMKV was not able to use it. However, the drive now won't read 4K UHD blu-rays; it spins up for a few se...
