Re: SDFtool Flasher
When you say 1.02, are you talking about the recommended WH16NS60 1.02 or the WH14NS40 1.02?? You should flash the former first to remove the firmware encryption. If you want to flash another firmware version afterwards, then you can. Ah that seemed to do the trick. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I di...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
You don't select anything with regards to the firmware encryption. SDFtool flasher automatically sets the encrypted flag if the drive has encrypted firmware.The0riginal wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 3:53 pmDrive: LG WH14NS40 in a Vantec NST-540S3-BK enclosure
I used the read function to confirm current firmware and the filename contained the following: WH14NS40_1.05_212005061444
I assume that means that my current firmware is encrypted so I check the appropriate setting in the GUI.
I select the 1.02 firmware for my drive and initiate the write function.
I receive the following error: "Command produced error code 0x82052603"
Any ideas?
Yes, your 1.05 is encrypted so in SDFtool flasher you should see 2 green ✔️, one for drive platform and the other for encrypted firmware.
Also ensure there's no disc in the drive and the tray is closed.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
I did and successfully flashed to 1.03. Unfortunately it still won't read my discs, it just ejects them even although it's patched. I tried doing the next flash but it failed. Re: Newbie with a drive question
Hello everyone, I wanna start my own Jellyfin server but I really don't know what drive or drive model to buy and I hope someone on here can recommend me a few drives. I am looking for a Blu ray drive that's 5.25 inch, I live in the Netherlands and I do not have that big of a budget (between 0 to 6...

Re: Pioneer XD08U1 anyway to flash firmware?
Hi there i just bought a Pioneer XD08U1 4k UHD Player. Looked at the Hardware ID and it looks like 1.02 is not flashable from what im reading. Is there any work arounds/fixes so i can decrypt my 4k blurays to my HD? Thanks! USBSTOR\CdRomPIONEER_BD-RW__BDR-XD08U1.02 No. https://forum.makemkv.com/for...

Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
Hi, What's the best external drive to get for ripping dvd and bluray? On a bit of a budget so not concerned about UHD. Any PM greatly appreciated If you won't ever be interested in UHD, go for a Pioneer external drive. Something like a BDR-XD07 or BDR-XD08. Very good drives but cannot currently be ...

Re: How do I make playable blu-ray discs?
Does a PlayStation count as standard player? Because that doesn't line up with my own encounters with bootleg discs. Here's one example... an unencrypted burn of a certain TV show, no AACS folder. My PS3 and PS5 play it without issue, menus and all. https://i.imgur.com/0p3VdCB.png Yes, playstations...

No, it must be decrypted and include the AACS folder or else it won't play in a standard blu-ray player. Does a PlayStation count as standard player? Re: SDFtool Flasher
I did the following - RECOVERY and flashed HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917 - WRITE and flashed DE_LG BU40N_1.00 That doesn't sound right. You've already done one WRITE to get on 1.03-MK, so skip that function from now on. Do the cross-flash with RECOVER. When you choose RECOV...

Re: How do I make playable blu-ray discs?
My gut feeling is the backup must be decrypted and burned without the AACS folder in the disc root. Case in point: a certain log message is pretty common on not-legit discs... " AACS directory not present, assuming unencrypted disc " No, it must be decrypted and include the AACS folder or...
