I have a 5 drive setup. I use a SAS hba card in IT mode and external sas cables to the enclosure.
Make mkv works fine in single drive mode. I’d recommend an ssd as the target drive, as my drive can top out at 50MB/s each.

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"
Chaps - what's the latest recommendation for new Asus 16D1HT drives, to use the ASUS ODD FW 3.02 Updater for BW-16D1HT (Patched)? Or is there now a preferred procedure?

Re: Application crash \ unknown volume key
I can see the Application Hang logs in windows; The program makemkv.exe version 1.14.5.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel. Process ID: 420c Start Time: 0...

Application crash \ unknown volume key
I've had two Blu-Ray discs recently that have caused issues, same behaviour. On one machine - they cause the application to abort abnormally (when initially loading the disc contents...status transitions to Idle, and then crashes thereafter). No logs. On a different machine, I get a message that the...

Disregard - this was caused by a bug fixed in 1.14.x.
Thankyou!

LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
Hi - I have a BluRay throwing "LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input" immediately after starting to rip the main Title. The disk reads fine. First time I've encountered this. Same behaviour across multiple drives. Both the disk, and the backup that was made successfully, behav...

Re: What are your playback setups?
A few people running an Nvidia Shield here it seems. I have a problem with surround sound on mine, connected to a DTS\THD\ATMOS etc receiver, but MX player will only output surround in HW decoder mode. SW, HW+ output just PCM stereo, regardless of the audio track selected (DTS, DTS HD etc.). Main is...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Is it possible to use the official flasher tool and go to 3.02 still, or does it default to the latest available version?
OK - answering my own question, I updated it to 3.02 with the exe i'd downloaded. I disabled internet connectivity just in case it tried to pull the latest firmware.

The Asus seems to struggle with 3 layer discs (in my experience).

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I must admit my drive just struggled badly with Hacksaw Ridge (3-layer disk), but did manage to complete.
I presume people are using the standard flasher tool from Asus to go from 3.01->3.02?

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
Give you guys a tip on HDR. Straxrip 1.4 will encode any HDR file to any size and retain HDR , color space and 10bit. Peace...... Isn’t 1.7 the latest? I need to get familiar with this tool, at first glance I couldn’t see how to pass through multiple (>2) audio streams or handle subs. Sounds promis...
