Thanks, Mike. I tried ripping the movie again, with more success. The file still crashes in VLC (for reasons that are now clear to me) but plays in MPC. I'm going to play around with the subtitles, etc, but for archiving purposes would you be for or against transcoding the video to h.264? I'd like t...

I just tried to run MakeMKV v1.4.6 on a Matrix BluRay rip already on my HD. The process completed without error, but the MPC:HC crashes (right after increasing the window size to match the video, indicating that the video is actually in the file), and VLC will play the audio but the video generates ...

HD Folder as Source?
I have a 1:1 rip of a BluRay disk already on my hard drive. Can I specify that folder as the source?
