Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 error: Linux 1.10.6

You need the EC (elliptical curve) support turned on in OpenSSL which theoretically prohibits binary distribution. I read one post that said the patents have expired and Fedora started turning them on but go check your versions and see if they are new enough to get EC support. (I had to rebuild a bu...

The Circle (2017) has ~50 mpls full-length titles

Searching around it appears that mpls 318 is the correct one.

Re: Misleading Claim about Read Errors

The third possibility is that an error was introduced at mastering; possibility even deliberately as is the case with Play Station disc. They use specialized firmware to delibe...

Re: Can't rip Kingsman: The Secret Service

A USB 2.0/3.0 port only delivers 500/900 mA (@ 5V) and if you over-current the port the IC will emergency disconnect it (to prevent permanent damage or potentially a fire). Windows will cycle the port to try to bring it back so by the time you check it in Explorer or something it will be back online...

Re: Gentoo, makemkv 1.10.7, no titles/names

This appears to be an issue specifically with the Fight Club Bluray.
I just fired up another one and it's working as expected.

Gentoo, makemkv 1.10.7, no titles/names

Running Gentoo so fair odds the problem is on my end and this is the first time I'm running makemkv on Linux - I have been using it in a Windows VM (QEmu//KVM/GPU-vfio). It appears to find all the tracks but it gives them no names. Any suggestions for things to try would be appreciated. When I click...

Re: Pioneer BDR-XD05 slow read on Mac solution

Thanks for this.
I picked up a BDR-XD05 and it was limiting itself to 2.0 M/s because of the quiet mode.
I'm running Linux but you can plug the drive into a Windows PC, run the utility, and tell it to store the setting on the drive.
22 M/s now!
