My ASUS drive just won't read any discs anymore after the first attempt of reading Maverick failed at around 70%. I've powercycled it, let it be unplugged from power for a while, rebooted the PC etc. The drive shows up in Windows, MakeMKV sees it, but when I enter a disc it just makes a few noises ...

Meet the dreaded 'sleep bug'. Happens if you leave a UHD disc idle in the drive > 2 mins (IIRC). Search forum for details. Requires a FW fix. Nothing new. So that's what the sleep bug is. I've read about it some many times the past few years, but I've always just thought it's when I leave the disc ...

Just got the disc an my BW-16D1HT is behaving really weirdly. I got it to open the playlists once, but then the motor on my drive got stuck at absolute max speed. Couldn't get it to copy. Now that I own the disc I have no qualms getting the "rip" through other means, so I'll just do that.

I have the same drive, but with 3.01. Had no problem ripping Saving Private Ryan

I'll just add that I get MakeMKV v1.14.2 win(x64-release) started Using direct disc access mode DEBUG: Code 03DF/02/E064BA3E3F81 and then the process hangs there. I can close makemkv, but the child process makemkvcon64.exe is completely stuck, Windows is even unable to kill it. I have to force reboo...

That is the Atmos track. Atmos is sort of baked into the Dolby TrueHD track. If you play it on a supported player you will see that it plays Atmos While Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD are two separate soundtrack formats, Atmos data on Ultra HD Blu-ray is actually an extension to TrueHD that is folded ...
