Ah right you are, must have been confusing myself somewhere. Oh well, can't imagine I'll have much need to rip a UHD, just wanted to see if it worked. Sadly not but I'll survive!
Thanks for the reply!

Samsung SE-506CB
Hi all, many apologies for bothering everyone but I've not been here for a while and just recently picked up a Samsung SE-506CB having previously sold my old drives. I wanted to backup my Blade Runner 2049 UHD and figured I could do that no problem but I'm getting no disc so I'm wondering if I need ...

Sure but the sleep bug issue definitely does affect it if you don't know why it happens.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
HI, I have the ASUS BW-16D1HT and in the past I flash the following firmware to it: ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014.bin I am trying to sell it but if I can't find a buyer who wants a flashed drive I'd have to sell it as stock again. Is it possible to flash it back using the new SDFTool and ...

SOLD - UK - Asus BW-16D1HT in OWC Mercury Pro for sale
ITEM SOLD - Monday 27th June Hi everyone, I’m selling my ASUS BW-16D1HT in an OWC Mercury Pro Enclosure (with a couple of Verbatim BD-R XL discs (100gb) - I don’t have the boxes and since it’s a drive, probably best to do in person pick up so as not to damage the laser I guess. I’m in Stretford, Man...

Re: Sleep Bug Query - BW-16D1HT
Hi, yeah I have to just remember to do the open close thing. I don't use it often so sometimes I forget and then it sounds dreadful but it is what it is!
Not really fancy cross flashing, seems like it could cause more problems.
Thanks for the reply!

Sleep Bug Query - BW-16D1HT
Hi all, apologies if this is already taken care of, I've search a bunch of threads and some people are saying yes, some no so figured if I asked maybe someone could help. I have the following model that I flashed to 3.10 and as expected it has the sleep bug. It's not a huge deal but it's caught me o...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT - Horrendous Noise - Multiple Errors
Thanks d00zah! Very interesting... I think since I have it working alright now I'll just ensure that when I'm done ripping the disc I'll take it out and also not have the drive powered up when not in use. The idea of flashing more firmware from a different drive on my Mac again seems like something ...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT - Horrendous Noise - Multiple Errors
Hmm, perhaps this occurred because I didn't unplug it after updating the firmware. It wasn't reading anything except DVDs so I unplugged it and then tried again and now it seems to be reading BDs and UHDs just fine and although sometimes it's still noisy, it's definitely better than it was. Very str...

ASUS BW-16D1HT - Horrendous Noise - Multiple Errors
Hi all, so the new drive I bought is worrying me a bit, when it tries to read a disc it makes the most horrendous noises, like a floppy drive trying to brutally read a disc. Maybe that's fine, maybe not I'm unsure. I have this morning managed to flash the firmware from 3.10 to 3.10MK and the libredr...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT - Might need flashing - Manchester, UK
Thanks very much for the link, after some trial and error I was able to flash my drive. I kept getting 'file not found' errors even though the bin file was right there so instead of copying in the complete command I had to drag the files in one by one. I made a copy of the contents folder on my desk...

Asus BW-16D1HT - Might need flashing - Manchester, UK
Hi all, I just bought this drive which I plan on using via USB in my Mac when it arrives later today. I figured I could flash it myself without worry but having noticed this sub-forum I'm starting to wonder if it's actually more involved and that in actual fact I won't be able to do it and instead h...

MKV Files - AUD Units?
Hi all, does anyone know if there is an app to check if MKV 4k files have AUD units within the stream? Apparently for UHD players capable of playing BDXL discs they need them and often MKV have had them stripped out. I can't pretend to know exactly how this works but I guess if someone is creating t...
