FLAC profile with FFMpeg 6 causes rip failure
Was working with latest MakeMKV 1.17.6 built against FFMpeg 4.4.4. But having just rebuilt MakeMKV 1.17.6 against with FFMpeg 6.1.1, when trying to use FLAC profile for rips (and tested with the same previously working source) it seems to spend a longer time analyzing seamless segments before failin...

Re: Good Time - UK disc - has test card at the start?
It's this issue Blu-rays with extra video in m2ts files due to MakeMKV not yet (but it's been a while) supporting MPLS files specifying which parts of M2TS files to use.

Re: M3GAN Unrated
The easiest way to identify different versions is usually by duration. For M3GAN the unrated version is actually shorter by 6s so it's 00801.mpls as already confirmed. Mostly due to F-bombs being replaced with longer blah blah blah but also some extra gore for a PG13 release.

Re: Interface steals focus when finished saving
It probably depends on your window manager settings. With my patch, the OK window doesn't steal focus on Enlightenment with focus follows mouse.

Re: Interface steals focus when finished saving
If you're building MakeMKV on Gentoo then I wrote the following patch which you can plonk (after fixing any forum white space mangling) in /etc/portage/patches/media-video/makemkv/makemkv-disable-notification.patch (still applies to current 1.16.5 version) as I found the notifications quite annoying...

Re: More Commentary issues
I suggest you make a complete disc backup. This is my normal method for all discs these days to more easily determine (using vlc) the correct audio and subtitle tracks along with chapter names (if given in the discs menus) for a title and is also much easier with TV series and quicker to redo if you...

Re: I'm Stumped - Language Issue
There's only one audio track so you'll have the international version with both Norwegian and English spoken in the film. Fast forward to where there are Americans speaking to check. The "English only" version, where they really did film some scenes twice - once in Norwegian and then in En...

Re: The Expanse Season 4 Bluray Region A - Episodes/chapters out of order
Ah, yes, that issue. That is indeed an makemkv bug. I'd reported it in The Expanse Season 1 [UK] Episode Rips Have Hidden Extra Video and there have been other discs collated under Shannara Chronicles Season 2 - UK release where mike admin had stated; This is (still) a limitation of MakeMKV. The pla...

Re: The Expanse Season 4 Bluray Region A - Episodes/chapters out of order
For all television series you cannot assume that the episodes are sequentially numbered MPLS files on the disc. You have to visually or temporally (i.e. the run time) verify the correct episodes. This is not a makemkv bug.
I had to do this with The Expanse series 1-3 blurays.

All three series. Not sure why you'd want the textless (and soundless) elements though!

Re: Shannara Chronicles Season 2 - UK release
Was the same for the UK releases of The Expanse.
Easy to split using mkvtoolnix from the second chapter to second last chapter using mkvtoolnix as first chapter was all the title cards and the last chapter was the textless elements.

Re: Dual Mono Tracks Labelled as Stereo?
It's still technically a stereo track, just both channels are the same hence dual mono. Rename the track "Mono" if you desire - I do if I know. Mono tracks are usually encoded as 2.0 instead of 1.0 to account for crappy devices routing to the wrong speaker (i.e. not center). Prologic decod...

Re: Permissions issue with 1.15.3
Yes, I'm seeing the same for all files created for a mkv image or a full backup but directories have the correct umask. Skimming a diff between makemkv-oss-1.15.1 and makemkv-oss-1.15.3 doesn't immediately show the cause.

Re: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map
A word of caution on VLC though, it doesn't always get the right playlist/segments. The last time I tried it got the wrong playlist for me with John Wick 3 aka Lionsgate obfuscation. This was with (now) a few minor releases old VLC 3.0.8 (on Linux) but still the same libbluray 1.2.0 that chose the w...
