If NO DVDs are working, it's usually the drive, but more likely you have disks that are smudged or scratched. Have you tried cleaning them? The latest update to High Sierra Beta(10.13 Beta (17A330h) fixes issue. tested today 09/08/2017 12:41GMT

I have the same issue. However, I believe this may be due to Apple reverting to a new form of AFP as MKV works fine on a Mac running Sierra or earlier.
