Re: Win explorer crashes when I navigate to folder with MKVs
So now have 2 registry reg files 1 for turning off thumbnails, another for turning on. Just have to reboot. :( Allows me to mess with videos and then go back to normal. If I get really fed up I will rip out all the mkv extension entries in the registry - my "safe" PC's which also can run ...

Re: Win explorer crashes when I navigate to folder with MKVs
Or you could just turn off thumbnails for MKV files, depending on what codec your using. and if it worked for me I wouldn't have gone to this amount of pain  - and it is not only mkv's, there are a quite a few similar files that cause this problem But your method also disabled thumbnails f...

Re: A stupid question (not for me)
Okay just to recap everything. 1. You need a Bluray drive to rip the blurays with MakeMKV into MKV's 2. For playback you'll need something that can Play back MKV's with H264+slected Audio streams. 3. A backed up blurays is way to big to fit on one DVD, even a DVD DL (..although kung-fu panda does co...

Re: Feature Request - AC3
I can see your confusion with my statement about "1:1 copy". Yes MakeMKV only does a "1:1 copy", but it's on per stream. MakeMKV does not encode,re-encode,change or anything from it's original source. It only extracts the wanted info and places it into a MKV container. From the w...

Disable your thumbnails then
1. Open up "Haali Media Splitter Settings"
2. Goto/click on the "options" tab
3. Expand the "Explorer Integration" tree/branch
4. Click on "Enable Thumbnail Extraction"
5. set the value to "NO"
6. click Apply
7. click OK

Re: Feature Request - AC3
MakeMKV only copies what it sees, meaning it only does a 1:1 copy. So Doing what you ask would A: out of the Question, as it defeats the idea behind what MakeMKV is B: still take just as much time as what your doing now as it would still need to cover from DTS to AC3. C: Going from DTS to AC3 there ...

Re: LG BD570
Converting 500 files now (plus more going forward) is a daunting task... I would disagree there, having converted my library to and from MKV to TS a few times. To deal with this kind of issue (meaning the poor support for the playback of MKVs). I find going to TS from MKV is extremely easy, and rea...

Re: DIVX 8 codec/player
Sounds like a bad codec install/setup. MKV does leave the streams as is, meaning DVDs are Mpeg2/etc and blurays are h264/etc.
Trying playing the Files in VLC Portable (no installation needed), if that works like I suspect it will. Then it is a codec/player issue.

The LG BD570 can not play mpeg2 streams in a MKV, you'll need to convert it to something like h264.

Re: Convert .ts files?
Alternatively you can try to re-package the existing video of the .ts file into an MKV container using MKVmerge. MKVmerge does not support ts files, you'll first have to demux, then remux them into a MKV. 1. One option is to use tsmuxer(GUI) and demux them and then remux them with MKVmerge. But you...

Re: [REQUEST] Start & End Frames
And a handful of other thing do this for me already,
xvid4psp 5.0.37.X as a trim from the start and end
MPEG Video Wizard DVD 5.0
But it is so much nicer to have it done while ripping. Not to mention the added up reduced ripping times do amount to a nice sum

Those are your proposed rules not the forums, as such you I'm asking you in a public post to stop spouting off as if you are a admin or moderator. And if the forum was to use those rules, the forum it self would need to stop. As what MakeMKV does is "illegal" in some locations. EVEN on pur...
