Re: The Living Daylights not ripping correctly one extra feature
I was able to fix this by removing all fade-outs, using MKVToolnix, so I trimmed the MKV to 48m42s. It's acceptable now and the fade-out lasts 2 seconds if most. I had to do 6 editions total. Puzzled why this happened - at least I found a solution.

The Living Daylights not ripping correctly one extra feature
As you can see from here: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=21903 The 1080p Blu-ray from this movie has one extra feature called "Happy Anniversary 007" documentary (48:31) I tried right now to play the disc using LEAWO (app) and the bonus content was there. Problem is, MAKEMK...

Re: Ripping blu-rays with "in-movie experience"
Oddly, when I got some REMUXEs from Matrix movies, I never saw any (audio) commentary track from this. For specs, check here for the UHD/4K: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=49715 And Blu-rays 1080p: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=14306 Note that we have: 1) Philosopher...

Dark mode for MAKEMKV?
I wanted to make a suggestion: add to the MAKEMKV software an option for "dark mode", the current background is a white. Not as much easier on the eyes as a black one would be.

MAKEMKV fails to convert slideshows
This disc: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=14621 Has a bonus feature called "Slideshow", which is usually not converted properly to Matroska and requires that we visit the original disc using a player for BD/1080p which can check menus and the sort (like PowerDVD). Or it may...

Visual commentary - what is this?
I have this DVD: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=422 And as you can tell from these images: https://imgur.com/a/ec9i4VA It has an extra feature called VISUAL COMMENTARY. I used a program to create an ISO, with the option "Rip to Image". Then I used MAKEMKV to convert everyth...

Re: Converting into CC subtitles?
MakeMKV will use ccextractor to pull Closed Captioning text from the video stream, and add them in to the MKV file as an SRT subtitle. Sometimes DVDs say they have Closed Captioning, but do not; when this happens, ccextractor will take a LONG time to figure that out, and MakeMKV will seem to freeze...

Converting into CC subtitles?
I noticed MAKEMKV is capable of converting certain DVD subtitles into SRT closed-caption ones. Can you explain that feature?
Some old discs have subtitles that are not in the picture based format called VobSub. I forgot what it was, however I suspect this is what MakeMKV does to preserve them.

Failure to identify teaser and theatrical trailer (Total Recall, 1990 - DVD-R1)
As you can see here: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=806 The 1st Artisan DVD (R1) has 2 extra features: theatrical (and not mentioned there) teaser trailer. I took a few pictures from the menu: https://i.postimg.cc/Ss0CfwNR/DVDMENU1.png https://i.postimg.cc/xdNLH0QB/DVDMENU2.png https...

Re: AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
For the record, I have discovered issues with splitting and appending using MKVToolnix, especially with larger files from UHD/4K discs with new stuff such as Dolby Atmos. The errors started to appear because I had to split big files (even normal 1080p Blu-rays needed that) to fit into free 15 GB acc...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
The user Asmodian answered this: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1940884#post1940884 ******* I don't know of anything that can utilize that 2nd 1080p video track as part of decoding to Dolby Vision on PC. We can only get fallback HDR10 for now, but maybe one day. ******* One question: since...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
That second track (1080p) is the DV layer. You don't select it to watch. A DV player will use this file to apply DV data to the movie (base layer) frame by frame. I get that, but all I want to know is if I should keep this into my MKV (the 1080p 2nd track/layer). If I remove this, then I am not usi...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
Dual layer DV files (those with a primary 4K HEVC and a secondary 1080p HEVC DV stream in them)... I mean MKVs extracted from UHD discs... If we use MAKEMKV to convert the movies from such discs into MKV, should we keep the 1080p 2nd alternate video track there? I mean, here? https://i.postimg.cc/5j...

Re: AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
if you depended on rips created by MAKEMKV. I do, by the way. But it sounds like MakeMKV’s pace of development might not be for you. You should be aware though that due to disc authoring, not all AV Sync issues are going to ever just disappear. The difference is that MakeMKV is showing you the deta...

Re: AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
What kind of bug this is anyway, that is so widespread? If you're talking about the false AV Sync message appearing when forced subtitles are removed, that has already been confirmed as a bug and a false message, as reiterated in this thread. If you're talking about the possible AV Sync error occur...
