Thanks all. A simple restart fixed the issue, and I apologise that I didn't ensure he did this first.

Someone I know is having this issue:

"LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Backup failed"

But as you can see from the screenshot, the drive is LibreDrive enabled.

The next disc he tried, he got:
"The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can ...

Not at all. That last post could be very helpful indeed. If Passkey will work - that's fine. I did flash the BU40N to the MK 1.03 first, and then to 1.00. That allowed me to rip 4K discs. If I can crossflash to BU10 and make it PassKey compatible, that would be ideal.

It was the other way around. We installed DVDFab out of desperation when MakeMKV did not work. Before that we tried everything we could; we then (reluctantly) installed DVDFab, and now it works.

Thanks for the response. In the thread you linked to, it seemed that BitDefender was the culprit. We only use the standard Microsoft Defender anti-virus, not BitDefender. We'll try making an exception for MakeMKV, and then disabling altogether to see if that works. Somehow, though, running DVDFab ...
