Re: Doctor Who - The Collection Rip Error
I'm not certain, but I think this is in reference to discs of the original Doctor Who, not the 2000s reboot. DVDCompare.net ( https://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=51024 ) for disc 2, season 10, doesn't list anything that's a 4:36 track. However, there's the Carnival of Monsters Photo Gal...

Re: Doctor Who - The Collection Rip Error
I haven't noticed this and I have all the BD releases, but mine are the US version.
Have you used a player to watch the disc to see what is in that track? It seems like an odd track with 46 segments on a 4:36 track.

Re: MakeMkv linux
The only official way to install on Linux is via the makefiles. You only have to install the dependencies once, the first time you install MakeMKV. You don't need to install them again when upgrading to a new version of MakeMKV. It's not that difficult to run ./configure, make and sudo make install....

Re: Has MakeMKV stopped working?
I've had lots of brand new discs in sealed packages fail reading. They looked perfectly clean. But after cleaning them they work fine. Lots of times new discs have a thin invisible layer of soap scum left on them after manufacturing. Your eyes can't see it but it's enough to blind the laser pickup. ...

Re: No disc error on Fedora Workstation 41
Just because the Mac is supplying enough power via USB-C does not mean that the PC is. It would be worth it to just try to power the drive. And one drive working and the other not working may be that the working drive draws less power. But if you are seeing other people having the same issue with th...

Re: No disc error on Fedora Workstation 41
Update: I swapped to a different external drive (was HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N 1.03, is now Pioneer BD-RW BDR-UD04 1.14). Both drives work on MacOS X. Only the Pioneer works on Linux. I can now use both drives simultaneously, but I'm just curious why the BD-RE BU40N doesn't work on Linux. It does show u...

Re: Accessing my external drives
Are you using a snap or flatpak? If so then you probably need to give it permission to access the drives.

Re: Accessing my external drives
You need to select Computer and then go to where the drives are mounted (probably /media or /mnt).

Mac mini on a full desk at the base of my bed, with a USB to my player on my over the bed "desk" for 14 years.... Do you have another drive you can test with? While I think that you have a newish drive, they can still degrade over time. Have you tried with a powered USB hub close to where...

Re: All 4K movies and tv shows not converting
I have been having this issue since the last update where any and all 4k movies or TV shows are not converting, they all go through the process of Folder process or by selecting the drive to convert and once finished, there is no sound or picture and after several minutes, a message pops up "c...

Re: Env-Var to move ~/.MakeMKV/ directory?
And I am simply trying to change the location MakeMKV uses instead of ~/.MakeMKV/ as my user home is full of files that simply do not belong there, including the directory by MakeMKV. The convention of having . directories in $HOME (vs somewhere like .config) is over 50 years old. I would just leav...

Re: MakeMKV Crashing
If I keep my DVD Player next to my mac mini on short USB works fine, however when I try to use USB cable that is longer than 6" I get the DEBUG Code above If you only get the error when using a longer cable then I would say that the problem is power loss with the longer cable. Either use a sho...

Memory can fail. Just because it was working 6 (or whatever) months ago does not mean that it hasn't failed since.
